Sol Ruca is injured.

The NXT anonymous Twitter account posted a video on Wednesday of Ruca being attacked outside the Performance Center. A mystery assailant has been attacking female wrestlers near the building, with Nikkita Lyons and Wendy Choo already having been injured as a result.

Our own Dave Meltzer addressed Ruca's status on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that she has legitimately suffered a torn ACL.

Meltzer said:

[Sol Ruca] tore her ACL.
There's a lot of injuries there [NXT]. It's funny because a lot of people are blaming the strength training for the injuries, that they are doing heavy lifts as opposed to strengthening surrounding muscles to prevent injuries.
He continued:

When you are doing heavy stuff like that, the knees and the shoulders both can take a beating doing heavy one rep maxes or heavy, heavy weights, heavy squats, obviously, and they do that too, they have squat competitions there too. It sounds good but people have brought up to me there's a lot of injuries, especially on the women's side, there's a lot of women's injuries right now in NXT.
Ruca was signed by WWE in March 2022 out of the University of Oregon. She competed on the school’s Acrobatics & Tumbling team, which won the NCATA Individual Event National Championship. Ruca made her in-ring debut last June at an NXT live event.

Yet another woman down with a knee injury, there's definitely something to it now.

Honestly, and this is just my opinion. The opinion of a person that has zero medical experience. I think ACL tears and such can happen from not being use to strenuous physical activity. Like going 0 to 60 and really nothing in between. *shrugs* Never the less, hope she has a quick recovery. Don't know much about her but never want to see a talent out for injury.

They lifting too heavy.

Just do super reps, less weight, but do it faster.

Also......business is cursed.

Fuck everything.

Is it not also just a fact that women are more susceptible to knee injuries? I wouldn't doubt that the trainers have some responsibility in this but it's historically just very common for female athletes to tear their ACL/MCL/meniscus

Combine that with their current development women largely being cut from a more athletically explosive cloth than years past and I don't think this is that crazy of a phenomena:lol

Sol Ruca is a beautiful and very athletic girl ... The problem is that she is not just wrestling. She enjoys being active and undertakes strenuous and risky physical activity. She surfs, does all kinds of tumbles and dives, skates and so forth. The knees gotta give in sooner or later. ... I wish her well .... Anyway, her daredevil nature and gutsy attitude are on par with Logan Paul. Damn, they would actually form an entertaining or annoying couple (like Sunny and Skip in the WWF). :lol

I hope Sol gets better soon and heals safely. I just hope she just learns to slow things down a bit.

@HBK you better fix these fuck ups......I'm still mad at you over Mandy.

Don't shorten Sol Ruca's career because you run a sloppy shop.

One of the best parts of NXT these last few months was Ruca's matches, damn.

She trains like crazy according to her social media, she's in great shape, I think it was just an accident, not a lack of preparation on her part

She's appear to have been maxing her weight reps, and you doing that and cross training heavy in conditioning.....recipe for disaster.

Her technique looks fine however, but women are more susceptible to ACL tears.

Doing max reps unless you're legit training as a powerlifter is pretty pointless IMO that's just ridiculous strain on your body just to tout how much you can lift without actually doing any good bc it's just one damn rep. I know they do the combine and stuff and I do enjoy those but save the max records for that, no need in doing them any other time, just train normally

What's with you and trying to control what women do with their bodies
