So what was the reasoning behind the turn?

So, Tito wasn't on their side. Kurt was in rehab. The Main Event Mafia were on a cold streak and staring into a sure-fire trap to the Aces and Sevens and one of them losing their livelihood (lmfao, just roll with it)... but then the no-longer-lone-wolf AJ Styles shows up and comes to save the babyfaces and get rid of another Ace.

So, what's going to be the explanation for the face turn? And given that it happened because of a panicked rescript, how well do you think it came across?

EDIT: The in-kayfabe reason, haha

I think it's because they don't see what they expected in Styles' lonewolf gimmick. I personally loved when AJ stepped in the ring with his old clothes, stopped for a moment and listened again to his old theme. GET READY TO FLY!

Even though when I read spoilers I thought it was wierd and whatnot and wanted to see how it all played out on TV, I kinda marked-out when I saw him go back to "Old" AJ Styles.

On TNA website, they are hyping AJ explaining his actions live next week from Cleveland; and there will be some kind of Hogan-Bully Ray face off.

Totally agree with you man. The lone-wolf gimmick wasn't really drawing reactions and the moment was pretty cool, but was wonder why (in kayfabe) this was the time for him to do it.

It's cool, though.

Kayfab side of this, I think this is just AJ playing with both Mafia and Aces, a) he gets rid of competition by taking out an Aces member b) he gets closer to BFG by Mafia having his back c) come BFG and possible interferences in the title match by the Aces, there's AJ's Mafia to help him d) when he wins the title, he takes out Mafia and goes back to being ONE

I'll admit I marked. Plus, his new gimmick wasn't working because since his return pretty much, it was being horribly booked, now they have a face, there's already a tweener going around (A Double) and yeah, it was a nice moment, so.
