In a Press Meeting earlier this month, Dixie Carter said that TNA's Ultimate goal was to rival WWE Raw on Monday Night Television. He was also on Bubba the Love Sponge show before Bound for Glory. During the show Bubba asked Carter what she thought about WWE RAW doing a 2.8 cable rating a few weeks ago. She said that the fans have been insulted over the years, and that TNA offers something different than WWE. She said she hopes the best for WWE because it's better for the fans and for the business if they are doing well.
Towards the end of the show Bubba asked Carter if she would sell to Vince and she said, "TNA is here to stay. Thanks but no thanks, we're not selling."
WWE.com posted an interesting article today with Stone Cold Steve Austin interviewing actor and former WCW Champion David Arquette. Arquette's WCW title reign is considered by many to be the epitome of the company's ineptitude during its final days. As if David Arquette being interviewed on WWE.com isn't strange enough, Stone Cold actually mentions TNA Wrestling in one of his questions. Austin asked Arquette: Knowing wrestling like you do, being in WCW for a little bit and now seeing the business today with really only WWE around • you’ve got some stuff in TNA but no major stars • who is your favorite guy going right now? It is very rare that WWE mentions rival promotion TNA Wrestling in any way. Despite what Stone Cold says about TNA, their weekly television show iMPACT! draws ratings that are comparable to ECW on Sci Fi. As far as TNA having no major stars, Austin seems to have a short memory. He dropped the WWE Championship to TNA's top star Kurt Angle at Unforgiven 2001.
Stupid, Dixie Carter wants a Monday Night War I'm sure the WWE wouldn't even care about TNA in the war because they are nowhere close to TNA, and strange how Stone Cold mentioned TNA on WWE.com.
