Snoop Dogg has been banned from Norway for two years as a result of his attempt last month to enter the country carrying marijuana, the Associated Press reports.
Snoop Dogg was scheduled to perform at the Hovefestival in Arendal, Norway, on June 28th when we was detained by customs authorities after drug-sniffing dogs brought him to the officials' attention. He was found to be carrying eight grams of marijuana in his luggage, as well as more cash than was legally permitted. After admitting to the offenses, he was fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600).
A lawyer for Snoop Dogg told the AP that his client "can live with the decision" and does not currently plan to appeal it.
The rapper, who is set to release a reggae album later this year under under the name Snoop Lion, was also arrested in Texas last January when police dogs found less than half an ounce of marijuana in a waste basket on his tour bus.
