MVP vs. Jimmy Wang Yang
Monty (not the Smod) is in control when I came in. He is hitting Jimmy with some pretty snug offense to say the least. Jimmy mounts kind of a comeback but doesn’t do much as MVP gets the huge boot, almost a dropkick, ftw.

"Mister" Ken Kennedy vs. "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin
Tie up into a side headlock takeover. Back up and Kennedy shoots him off but gets shoulderblocked down. Off the rope Kennedy hits an elbow and then goes for the mic check but Benji bails. Back inside and Kennedy locks in an armbar but Shelton fights out and hits a snap suplex into a float over for 2. Shelton hammers him in the corner but Kennedy fights out and works over the arm of Benji some more. Kennedy holds onto the arm . The Gold Standard however throws KK into the post and we go to commercial.
Back on SD and its Benji who is working the arm. A hammerlock into a SHOULDER breaker (modified). Shelton locks in a cross arm bar and wrenches back. Benji almost gets pinned a few times but keeps the pressure on. Kennedy manages to turn this into a nasty looking leg lock out of nowhere! Shelton to the ropes, Kennedy lets go and as soon as he does, Kennedy is tossed outside. Back into the ring, KK fires up and hits a knee/facebuster. The two jock for position for the next minute or so seeing a nice cross body by Shelton but its not enough as Kennedy hits the Mic Check for the W!

The Brian Kendrick vs. Steven Richards
Wow first Stevie has to job to Kozy and now to Kendrick!? Kendrick dominates up front with some good wrestling and some impact moves too. Nice mix. c…Boston Crab by The into a few stiff kicks. Stevie fights back with some and a Stevie Bomb almost gets the W. A NASTY kick sends The out of the ring into the hands of Zeke. Back into the ring and The hits a neck snap over the top (which I wish more people would use) and then Sliced Bread.

Jeff Hardy vs. The Great Khali
Jeff gets some surprising offense in and its relatively effective until Khali, you know, USES HIS SIZE. Khali Nashes him in the corner and then hits a towering bodyslam…..or 2? Huge headbutt sends Hardy staggering. More Nashing followed by a huge SLAP and more Nashing. Jeff gets some offense in and then hops to the top where he gets THROWN from the ring from a HAYEEE YAH! and we got to commercial.
Back from commercial and Khali is just dominating, as he should. The guy is a brick wall for fucks sake. And then…....THE DREADED TRAP HOLD! Hardy FIGHTS OUT of it, gets back into it and hits a SWANTON!!! As Jeff is gonna go for the win MVP comes out and Hardy attacks him. Khali takes advantage of the distraction and locks in the Brain Ouchie ftw.

Victoria vs. Maria
Victoria starts out hard and fast with a bridging neck lock (SP help me out here) and just pounds the fuck out of Maria. She throws Maria out and then chases. Small hopespot or 2 by Maria leads to a full nelson by Victoria that Maria just cant break. That is, till she throws an elbow (whoda thunk) Maria gets back into it with a Sunset flip for a 2. Then a nice clothesline setting up for a 2nd rope clothesline ftw.

Is it me or is Smackdown becoming squash match central? I don’t know why this was even necessary other than to….Oh wait.

The Cutting Edge
So all night we have been told there is going to be a mystery guest on The Cutting Edge. Edge comes out and says he is a bit nervous about having to face The Undertaker so he has surrounded himself with HIS implements of destruction. Edge says he has been watching footage of all of Taker’s Hell In A Cell Matches “probably not a good idea†he says. Edge tells the crowd that he has found someone who will help him out. He has found someone who knows the Undertaker better than anyone else. Now I would have SWARN TO GOD that it was gonna be Paul Bearer. I fully expected to hear an “OHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHSSSSSSSSSSSS†but it was not to be. However, we got a great surprise and Edge reveals his guest to be Mick Foley!
Mick gets into the ring and Edge tells him that he needs Mick’s help to defeat the Undertaker. He even shows a GREAT, and I mean GREAT video package showing the Attitude Era. It culminates with the Taker/Foley Hell In A Cell showing the BRUTAL spots. Edge tries to use this to force Mick’s hand but it doesn’t work. Mick tells Edge that he has been making Foley look like a liar. He said that he has been saying and writing for years that Edge is the greatest superstar in the WWE but lately, Edge hasn’t been living up to it. He calls out Edge on being a punk for banging the boss to get ahead, using his lackey’s to win matches, and generally being an overall pussy. Mick tells Edge that he cant help him, and that Edge has to help himself. He tells Edge that he needs to get back to what he used to be. The man who made TLC mean something, the man who had the greatest hardcore match in the history of Wrestlemania (of the what, 5) Foley then turns all drill sergeant and says “Am I understood!?†Edge says yes and proceeds to beat the living shit out of Foley. Spearing him into the steel stairs on the outside and then giving him a very Shawn Michaels elbow drop through a table. And that…..is all she wrote.
Winner: Edge (Flawless Victory/Fatality)
Great segment to end what was just another mediocre show. Its really pissing me off now. I mean the show used to have a lot less meaningless matches. TBH I think its turning into a 2 hour ECW.
