The 4th of July is over and we are well into what some would call the dog days of summer. Fortunately, that Is not the case on Smackdown. As MVP say, “big things are poppin†so lets get into it.

Smackdown starts off with the Rated R Superstar Edge. He comes out and says the wedding is still off. Just like those “menâ€, never wanting to admit he was at fault. This thing with Vickie and Edge is so typical of dysfunctional relationships, its scary. Edge goes on to say that he is going to prove that he didn’t win the WHC just because he was Vickie boyeeeeeee. Hawkins and Ryder accompany Vickie out and she tells Edge that he is getting a good warm up match for Trips in 9 days, The Big Show. And not only does he have to face Big Show, Edge has to face him in a no DQ match. Stip matches ftw!!

Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy
After last week I thought this would be the best match up. Matt controls early with a headlock. Shelton fights out of it but Matt takes him down and drops the elbow hammer :hammer: Benji takes over by grabbing Matts pants and throwing him head first into the turnbuckle. Shelton controls the pace of the match for the next few minutes with some atypically methodical offense. One too many Stinger Splashes gives Matt the advantages though. Hardy fires up and hits his clothesline bulldog for a 2. Matt goes for the TOF but misses and Shelton counters with an Exploder Suplex! But that’s not enough. Matt goes for the TOF again but Shelton hooks the ropes. Benji hits a really pussy looking head lariat and gets the win.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Match Rating: **3/4

Hawkins and Ryder suck up to Vickie. I guess they are dividing up the kids. Anyway, they ask for a match with Jesse and Festus. Are they Blue?

Ken Kennedy vs. Domino
Gee, I wonder who is going to win this one. But, I bet it will be a little interesting. Kennedy cuts a little promo before hand and says he IS SMACKDOWN and then says he is more valuable than SDs MVP, who is at ringside on commentary. The match starts and Kennedy take control early. He even mocks Doms greaser mannerisms. Domino takes over but Kennedy wins what was a match that was little more than a squash.

Winner: Ken Kennedy
Match Rating: **
After the match: Kennedy and MVP get into a bit of a staredown until Umaga hits the ring and destroys Kennedy, much to the delight of MVP. Alliance? :g:

Chavo sucks up to Edge and says he’s gonna go give Vickie a piece of his mind.

MnM2k8 vs. The Finlay Family
The Fin â„¢Kaedon, starts out the match and does his thing. This was another relatively benign match. The only 00ber excitement came at the end when Miz got rocked at the end with the Shalayleigh.

Winners: The Family Finlay
Match Rating: **

Chavo now suck to up Vickie. Well played sir. Oh, maybe not, he’s on job duty tonight vs. HHH.

Chavo Guerrero (with Bam Neely O_O)vs. Triple H
Poor Chavito. Should have kept your mouth shut. H, of course dominates from the outset, but CHavo actually kinda makes it competitive when Bammers gets involved. But in the end its, kick, wham, pedigree.

Winner: HHH
Match Rating: **

Nattie Neidhart and Maryse vs. Michelle McCool and Cherry
Once again the ladies get to display what they can do, and boy can they do it. Yeah the women in TNA are great but these women are kicking ass too. This was a pretty good match from start to finish. Cherry sold like a motherfucker and took the sharpshooter like a champ, for about 2 seconds >_>.

Winners: Nattie and Maryse
Match Rating:**

Jesse and Festus vs. HnR Edgehead (and this time, its personal!)
I really am getting sick of these two fighting. I don’t mind building a program but come on guys. Bu I will say, this match took a great and interesting turn when HnR Edgehead got themselves counted out. At first I didn’t know why, and then, the bell rang. Festus became a drooling idiot (see Roxxi Leveau Fanboy) and the Edgeheads attacked Jesse. They beat his ass down and then work Festus over after a double spear. Jesse (obviously the brains of the team) gets outside and rings the bell, bringing Festus back to life and that was it.

Winners: Jesse and Festus
Match Rating: **1/2

Vladimir Kozlov vs. Steven Richards
AWWW the WWE ruined the best joke in IWF history!!! They gave Kozy music! Anyway, yep, he won, WITH A FUCKING HEADBUTT NO LESS!!

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov
Match Rating: *

Edge vs. The Big Show (No Disqualification)
Easily the best show of the night. The match quickly lived up to its name a it spilled out to the floor and had a shit ton of brawling. Big Show, of course, dominated early as Edge didn’t know quite how to deal with someone so big and strong, but soon took the advantage. While on the outside, Edge tried to use a kendo stick on Show but it was not to be. Edge took back over with a steel chair and was about to deliver a one man conchairto when Show grabbed his gullet and chokeslammed him. Show was then going to go for a conchairSHOW (also ™Kaedon) when Vickie called for the match to be over.

Winner: TBS
Match Rating: ***
Aftermath: Edge and Vickie reunite, ugh, more kissing

Well form a match quality standpoint, this was a really bleh Smackdown. But all in all it was still pretty fun to watch. I enjoyed the soap opera shit, the Hardy match, and the thing with Jesse and Festus. Well, that’s it for this week, don’t forget to read SPs Raw Review, if you don’t, another kitten will be drowned. SO YOUD BETTER READ!!

I was wondering why SD! ring this week had "black" ropes instead of blue? did they actually forgot to bring the official SD! ropes?

Well, I first turned this weeks episode on about 25 minutes in and saw about 3 minutes of the Benjamin/Hardy match, which ended with about the most homo move ever. It looked like he just dropped him down on the back of his head. Nothing. Gay. I then turn it back on later and see Triple H not in the main event and squashing Chavo in like a minute. That was enough for me, once again.

Pitiful.

I understand why and what they are doing, but its not being executed as well as it could be.

Clearly, someone from WWE is a member of this site, and gave Kozlov some music. You know, to spite us >_>

Um, it wasn't a lariat. Shelton went for the Pay Dirt like always (you could see by the way he fell back), but Matt botched it by not knowing the move, and falling backwards. Completely Hardy's fault.
