Edge starts out the show to a chorus of boos. Edge is pissed he isn’t WHC. Edge feels like he let his posse down. But he promises Vickie, swearing on their live, he will regain the gold. Chavo is pissed too. He calls Kane a cheater and a coward. He also promises he will win back his lost gold. Vickie announces she is giving Chavo and Edge rematches at their gold. I guess she is running ECW now too, making matches for THEIR title and all. She also announces a hell of a main event, brother vs. brother, Kane vs. The Undertaker! You sold me!

M.V.P. vs. Matt Hardy
This is surprising, I thought we’d get a promo about it, at least, but I guess not. We get a brawl to start off till mat hits a swinging neckbreaker, but then its back to the fists. Matt hits a standing back elbow and than an elbow drop for a 2. And back to the brawl. MVP gets hit with a stiff clothesline and goes to the outside. Matt follows him out and they brawl a little more. Then Matt makes the classic face mistake, he follows a heel into the ring. MVP takes a page from Ortons book and hangs up Matt on the second rope and drops him with a Showstopper like maneuver. MVP takes over with the brawl and just pummels Matt Hardy. He sends Matt outside and slams his had into the table. Back in the ring he lock in a two handed rear chin lock. Oooooo face washer on the mat and back to the chin lock. Hardy gets to his feet and drops MVP in a side suplex but its not enough as MVP kicks him right in the face. MVP then jumps and STOMPS on Matt Hardy’s face. MVP goes for the double stomp from the second rope but misses and jams his knee. Matt then just tortures MVPs knee using various moves including wrapping his leg around the steel ring post. Back in the ring and Matt hits a bulldog but its only good enough for a 2. Matt locks in a what is pretty much a torqued one leg Boston crab. The crowd is dead silent for this. MVP sends Matt head first into the rail and FINALLY the crowd comes to life and Matt nails a side effect. Hardy hits the elbow from the second rope and goes for a twist of fate but gets drilled with a clothesline. MVP goes for his kick but Hardy dropkicks him right in the knee and then nails the TOF for the win.

Winner: Matt Hardy
Match Rating: ***

Zack Ryder vs. Festus
Ryder tries to jump off the apron on Festus but the big man just throws him down. Back in the ring and Ryder is treated like a rag doll. Ryder gets a little offense in but Festus overpowers him. He then starts headbutting the torso and back of Ryder. Ryder gets up and tries to control the arm but Festus just shoves him off. Fall away slam and the big man nails the lying Thez Press and then an avalanche in the corner. Hawkins tries to get in but gets drilled with a boot to the head. Festus grabs Ryder and hits the reverse F-5 for the win. I think I’m gonna call that the Bail Toss.

Winner: Festus
Match Rating: **

HBK comes out and tries to explain his feelings about retiring Ric Flair but he is interrupted by a very angry, stoic Batista. Batista says he’s glad HBK found closure because he hasn’t. He said Mania was one of the hardest nights of his life because he aw Ric Flair retired. And, Batista says, he’s taking it personally. Shawn says it wasn’t easy for him either. Batista tells HBK said he made the wrong decision. Shawn disagrees and says he gave Flair what he wanted. The Animal says Shawn let his ego get between him and Ric. Batista then takes a shot at HBK saying “oh that’s right, the Showstopper doesn’t do jobs.†Oh snap. Batista calls HBK the most selfish man he knows. He told Shawn if he would have laid down, Ric would still be here. Shawn says he’s sorry and Batista says he doesn’t care. Batista then makes reference to HBK calling Ric “Old Yeller†and looks like he is about to cry. Batista walks away with a look of disgust and Shawn stands there looking ashamed. Nice segment.

Segment Rating: ***

We see a Kane/Taker staredown in the back. BONER!

Vladimir Kozlof vs. Matt Bentley
He loves double double e and he comes out to no music. He runs through the jobber and wins with a move I wish more people would use.

Winner: The Commie
Match Rating: *1/2

MnM2k8 vs. The Redneck & The Reject
Miz starts out with Jimmy and Yang is too quick for him as he hits a hurricanrana and then tags in Shannon who hits a nice dropkick. Morrison tags in and hits an innovative backbreaker. Morrison then hits his neckbreaker and its over.

Winners: MnM2k8
Match Rating: *

After the match, The Great Khali comes in and just destroys everyone. Way to shit on the tag team division WWE. Wheres Big Show when you need him? Oh, there he is. Big Show comes out, gets in Khali’s face, and the Punjabi Chicken decides its time to take a walk. I can just see the headlines in India now “Khali Spares Stupid American The Beating Of His Life. Praise Khali!â€

Michelle wins the Diva contest and then we see the debut of who I assume is Nattie. Shes got an ass. Me likey!

The Undertaker vs. Kane
Awwwwwwwwwww yeah baby! The BOD start out with some good wrestling, like WRESTLING, wrestling. Arm bars, hammer locks, reverse arm bars, top wrist lock, whoda thunk it. Kane with the single leg and gets a one count. Taker with a single leg of his own and Taker locks in an ankle lock but Kane kicks out of it. Taker locks in an arm lock and goes for old school but Kane blocks it. Taker drives his shoulder into Kane’s and this thing is moving at a nails pace. The crowd is not too into it. Kane gets pissed at Taker and shoves him. Kane goes “yeah, I did it†and Taker jacks him in the face and that’s when it begins. The big men start throwing Heymakers. Taker gets the advantage but Kane gets off a huge big boot to the face. Kane takes over with his ham hawks and throws them down with Taker. Undertaker comes and starts drilling Kane. On the outside Kane gets his head drilled into the security wall but Taker does as well. Back in the ring, both men are on their knees just beating the shit out of each other. We get a double goozle spot, I love these, and we get a double big boot. One that was actually well done for once. Those who don’t know what Im talking about, go watch Nash and Shows double big boot from Bash At The Beach 2001. The BOD do a double SIT UP, which looks awesome, and Edge, Chavo, and his The Edgeheads attack. UT and Kane are down but sit up, come back, and clear the ring with stereo chokeslams and tombstones on Chavo and Edge! AWESOME!

Winner: No Contest
Match Rating: ***

This was a fun SD. There were some lulls but all in all, the main event and MVP/Hardy made up for it as well as the Batista/HBK promo. If you liked my review, there are plenty of others you can check out, so DO IT! See ya next week.

Matt and MVP simply picked up right where they left off when Matt got injured.

I didn't care much for the Festus-Ryder match simply because I would prefer to see both teams try and go for the tag titles (Though we would learn later on how little WWE thinks of the tag division).

Batista has been needing a heel turn for a while. His pops though still large have not been anywhere near as loud as they were 2 years ago, and if he is turning, doing it against Michaels is a good show because we know it'll lead to a good match.

I can't remember when was the last time someone debuted without any music at all. It just looked so random. Kozlov didn't really look all that different from you generic big man, but at the very least he has a cool finisher, and with his Russian gimmick, it won't be long until he starts getting booed.

The tag match was good while it lasted but they just couldn't leave it be after it ended. Khali simply squashed two tag teams (Including the CHAMPS!!) and that was it. I understand why Big Show came out, but I still don't get it. Is he on RAW, ECW or SD?

Cherry's hot... That is all. And yes, that was Nattie Neidhart who attacked both Cherry and Michelle.

I loved the ME, plain and simple. Both Taker and Kane started off with some actual wrestling (Reminiscent of the Show-Kane mat CLASSIC from a couple of years ago) and I laughed when both men just said Fuck It and decided to chuck bombs at one another... The run-in at the end was predictable but it helps build two title matches for Backlash so I can't complain.

Good show this week, with Finlay coming back next week SD gets another of their best wrestlers back which should help the overall quality of the brand a bit.

Anyways, good review as usual.

I thought SD! was pretty good tonight, much better than some we've seen lately. I didn't watch the whole show, but I saw the best parts.

HBK-Batista promo was amazing, when the Animal came out in the leather cut off I just thought wow he looks like a heel. I really think they did a good job setting up for this feud. I think it should be a very, very good one.

I also was shocked when MVP and Hardy actually had a match. I too was expecting them to have a promo or something, but this was a very good match. Hardy worked over MVP's leg fantasticly and I thought it was overall a very good match.

The ME was awesome, but I don't think there needs to be much said about thata one, I got exactly what I was expecting out of two great wrestlers like those guys. I loved the ending with each them doing the same thing, great to see them in the ring together again.

Good show overall and a great review as always Kaedon.
