The January 11th episode of WWE SmackDown averaged 3,130,000 viewers. That is up from last week's 2,721,000 viewers.
Let's see how that translates into ratings.

Rock was announced and there was a title change, which even though it was given out due to spoilers, I'm sure people still wanted to see how the match happened, how everything was set up, and just stuff like that. So it's no surprise the ratings are better then before.

Thanks to The Rock, of course. That's also probably why they did the title change on Smackdown, because they knew people would be watching because of The Great One, and so they wanted people to witness something else major. (Granted, they gave it away on wwe.com, but still.) Some also think the title changing hands on free TV instead of, say, the Rumble, is because WWE doesn't like both world titles switching hands at the same PPV, which could be a huge hint that Rock is indeed walking out as WWE Champion. It does make his win stand out more if it's the only major title change on the night of the PPV.
