Smackdown 9/5/14 results

WWE taped the September 5, 2014 Smackdown episode from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. Here are the spoilers:​

Dark Matches

* Naomi defeated Cameron with the Rear View.

* Adam Rose defeated Titus O’Neil with a quick roll-up. Titus got on the mic and demanded a rematch. Rose came back in the ring and defeated Titus with the Party Foul. Rose’s Bunny came in the ring after the match and humiliated Titus.

WWE SmackDown

* John Cena opens SmackDown and talks about how everyone should stop doubting him. Cena says he is a fighter and wants to be champion. The day he doesn’t want to be champion is the day he leaves. Cena wants redemption. He plugs the WWE Network and out comes Kane with Seth Rollins. Cena tries some comedy. Roman Reigns comes through the crowd. The lights go out and The Wyatt Family appears in the aisle. Chris Jericho’s music hits next and here he come with Mark Henry and Big Show. Triple H is out next and makes Cena, Reigns, Jericho, Henry and Show vs. Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, Kane and Rollins for tonight’s main event.

* Sheamus is on commentary for Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler wins a solid back and forth match with a roll up after a tiger bomb reversal into a face buster. Cesaro attacked Ziggler after the match but Sheamus made the save.

* Stardust and Goldust cut a promo on The Usos.

* Jimmy Uso defeated Heath Slater. Titus O’Neil was at ringside as was Jey Uso, who was on crutches.

* Lana and Rusev come out for a promo. Mark Henry interrupts and gets the crowd into a Patriotic fervor.

* Brie Bella vs. Paige is next with AJ Lee and Nikki Bella on commentary. AJ and Nikki start fighting. Brie goes to ringside to stop them, comes back in the ring and gets DDT’d by Paige.

* Bo Dallas squashes Zack Ryder with a Bo-dog. Bo cuts a promo after the match but is interrupted by Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger. Swagger brawls with Bo and runs him off.

* Roman Reigns, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry and Big Show vs. The Wyatt Family, Kane and Seth Rollins was a long match. The babyfaces win by disqualification when Cena gets the hot tag and all the heels attack him. The babyfaces hit their finishers and celebrate in the ring to end SmackDown. There were huge chants for Cena and Jericho.

Sounds pretty boring if you ask me. And I'm the WWE mark who watches SD every week and will probably watch this one too. So tired of the multiple people in a tag match ME that we have been seeing on every show lately. They all end in chaos with no real winners, so whats the point of a match anyway?

Ziggler over Cesaro is a positive in my book though. Too bad it had to be Cesaro, but they seem to have taken his push away anyway.

About to watch this episode. From the looks of it, it's gonna be typical/10, I guess... I don't know why I keep tuning in, tbh...

 

[Trip in the Head]

Well the HHH impression of Teddy Long made it more worth watching. And the DDT counter Ziggler hits Cesaro with after Cesaro launches Ziggler in the air was well done too. Little spots like that is why I continue to tune in.

The DDT counter was one of the best parts about the show, that alone could be watched for 2 hours rather than watching the whole show.

The Goldust/Stardust promo. Love these two! Hopefully they win the Tag Titles from Usos at NoC
Paige's 'Ram-Paige DDT' on Brie
Nice build-up for Dallas vs Thwagger at NoC

Negatives:
Openning the show with John Shitna
No Sandow
Lana/Rusev crap
Slater losing to Jimmy Uso. Whatever happened to Slater's push...
This Bella crap needs to stop. Both are just terrible actors and on the mic
Typical tag team ME, ends in a DQ, babyfaces hit their finishers, no real winners... Fuck that shit.

It wasn't bad, actually. Had the main-event not been so underwhelming, I would say I enjoyed this more than I did raw this week(which isn't much, but still)
