SmackDown 9/10/15 [Results]

[Prince Bálor]

* Announced for tonight is Ryback vs. Seth Rollins in a Lumberjack Match plus Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Jimmy Uso vs. The New Day.

* The Wyatt Family kicks off SmackDown in the ring. Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt cut promos on Reigns and Ambrose. Wyatt shows us what happened to Randy Orton on RAW last night. The segment ends with Braun Strowman yelling "run!"

* Paige vs. Sasha Banks is announced for tonight.

* Cesaro defeated The Miz with a Sharpshooter.

* Renee Young interviews Uso, Reigns and Ambrose backstage about their match later tonight.

* Paige vs. Sasha Banks is next. There was a small fight between Team PCB and Team BAD before the match as we get a look at Paige losing on RAW. Becky Lynch, Charlotte,Naomi and Tamina Snuka have been ejected from ringside. They fight to the floor and throw each other into the barriers. The referee can't stop them from fighting on the floor so another referee runs down. Naomi and Tamina run back out and beat Paige down.Charlotte and Becky make the save. A big brawl breaks out and the referees try to break it up. Team PCB gets the upperhand as Team BAD retreats to the stage. There was no winner in the match.

* Byron Saxton interviews Seth Rollins backstage and he's mad about Sting destroying his statue. He talks about his Night of Champions matches against Sting and John Cena. Sheamus interrupts and they have words.

* The New Day vs. Reigns, Ambrose and Uso is next. Reigns gets the hot tag and unloads. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Kofi Kingston. Reigns hits a Superman punch onXavier Woods. Uso tags in and hits the top rope splash but The Wyatt Family graphic flashes and the lights go out. They come back on and The Wyatts have Uso on the stage. Bray has him in a bear hug. Reigns and Ambrose run up to make the save but the lights go out, come back on and The Wyatts are gone. Reigns and Ambrose stand over a laid out Uso as we hear Wyatt's voice taunting them.

* The Lucha Dragons vs. The Ascension is next. Stardust comes out with The Ascension. Stardust tried to get involved but Kalisto chased him away. Kalisto tuned around to Fall of Man from The Ascension for the win. After the match, Cosmic Wasteland beats down The Lucha Dragons until Neville makes the save and cleans house.

* Renee catches up with Team Bella backstage. She talks to Niki Bella about Charlotte possibly stopping her record on RAW next week. Charlotte interrupts and they have words.

* Ryback vs. Seth Rollins in a champion vs. champion Lumberjack Match is next. Some of the Lumberjacks include The Dudley Boyz, The Ascension, Heath Slater, Mark Henry,Jack Swagger Zack Ryder, The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons, Fandango,Curtis Axel, Stardust, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Neville and Big Show. At one point, Show pulled Ryback out of the ring and threw him into the barricade. Henry got frustrated and attacked Show with punches. Fans chanted "please retire" as a group of Lumberjacks walked Show to the back. A few heel Lumberjacks ended up beating Ryback down in the ring, leading to babyfaces making the save. The Lucha Dragons hit dives to the outside. Neville hit Red Arrow on Stardust and then a moonsault to the outside, taking out a group of Lumberjacks. Ryback and Rollins are the only ones in the ring as Rollins hits a Pedigree for the win. SmackDown ends with Rollins holding up both titles.

I know nobody watches Smackdown - but the end of this episode alludes sooooo much to the pairing of KO and Rollins! I really enjoyed the lumberjack match ME. KO currently going for the IC belt fits with something I mentioned on here previously.

Could this really be heading to the pairing brought up when I said something about Rollins teaming with someone holding the IC belt and then getting the tag belts together?

In all seriousness, though... While I don't see Rollins & KO teaming up NOW, I definitely see KO as the new IC champ.

I don't think it would be like a "Let's team up" deal or anything between them. I could however see Rollins, after having retained both his belts btw, having an incident with the NEW tag team champs (i.e. the Dudleys I imagine) and him having a match made where he needs a partner. Enter KO the prize fighter and new IC champ. They beat the Dudleys (or whoever) in a non-title match and earn a title match and of course win that match too.

It's a long shot of course but I'll shit a brick if it happens. I'll go all "BLFFL" when she predicted Brock would break the streak lmao

Second straight week watching Smackdown, second straight week loving Smackdown. Is this gonna become a trend?
I think part of it is having the mindset of "Eh, it's Smackdown, it doesn't really matter anyway" helps and it's hard to pick apart and criticize the show, but... This show really is great!

-Even the "Show-Opening Promo" was kinda fun because Bray Wyatt got to actually say something, he got his angle over, he added a few Wyattisms, Harper said stuff, BLERP, done. Great!
-Cesaro vs Miz combined two of my favorite things in WWE: Cesaro kicking someone's ass, and Miz getting his ass kicked! Great!
-Jimmy Uso is having so much fun out there, and I loved the backstage promo of him acting... *sigh* uso crazy and Dean being like "Yeah, here's our guy, come on man, we're family" and Roman looking over like "what the fuck Dean..." That was awesome!
-Loved the Divas match, there's still incredibly low expectations for this division and after watching Paige go through the motions for so long and knowing we won't see NXT Sasha Banks again... It was pretty darn close here. Sasha kept the action fast and intense and Paige stepped it up. Great! And I loved the post-match brawl that felt like utter chaos when everything fell apart - not just "creating the illusion of it" but this felt like a bunch of chicks wanting to get at each others' throats. Great!
-BIG E SKIP AND CLAP YAY
-I miss the Shield, but the Shld + Jimmy reminded me of how much fun Roman Reigns hot tags and chaos and people flying around everywhere is. I loved this match once it really got going!
-I love how the timekeeper just had Xavier's trombone laying around there - ya know, just in case he needed to keep time with trombone blasts I guess.
-The Wyatts are clicking way more than they ever have. No more hatin' on Wyatt, yay!
-Stardust joining in the Ascension's entrance was EIGHTEEN COLORS OF WONDERFUL. And he can cut all the Wyatt promos he wants, haha
-Recap of the distraction rollup on Raw which was the lamest shit. Stop watching that show!
-THIS MAIN EVEN THO. Best regular lumberjack match ever (not counting the Rollins/Ambrose)? Hell yeah! The storytelling here was SO GREAT while Rollins kept the action going. Both sides of pro wrestling win.
I LOL'ed when the Big Show attacked Mark Henry and Owens just shrugged his shoulders... then all the faces ran off the Show and the heels saw an opportunity and 19 men ganged up on Ryback and here was Owens on the sidelines just biding his time... then the faces run in and a huge brawl erupts and Owens hums a little song in his head... and then Ryback erupts from the melee and BAM. Owens interrupts the Shellshock, Rollins wins LOL

I love how between the IC champ pinning the WHC and US champ on Raw and then the reverse happening here while 40 dudes got to brawling with one another, the only person who did anything that mattered was Kevin Owens. BUYS. And if that's not the proper order of things being restored, what is?
