I apologize if there is a topic for all SD discussion, just couldn't find it. Anyway, just some thoughts on this abortion.

I did not watch the whole show but I heard that Eve hit a Mic Drop and the fans started chanting Mic Check so thats funny. And Del Rio vs Kofi was quite good too. I love Booker on commentary on top of it all, he is going to get better. He sounds semi uncomfortable taking orders demanding he say what someone else tells him too.

It also seems as though the WCW booking bug isnt exclusive to just TNA. What the fuck was that world title finish all about? I keep expecting Vickie to turn on Dolph and get back with Edge and it does not happen, thats what ever. But what was with the finish? Atrocious I say. I mean Vickie hurts her ankle after Edge did not go down from the spear, which was amazing by the way. I heart Vickie, just sayin. Either way, she goes down and Edge hits a spear, OK, I expect a ref to come down and make the call but nothing happens. VIckie turns around and watches the action as she screams, Edge hits another Spear in front of Vickie. Rather than Vickie calling the match right there, giving Dolph the title (the stip of the match when she cut that promo pre match) she screams more watching as some random guy in a refs shirt runs down and makes the fall.

Yes I realize he is a Packer and all. But he was given no ref powers, no enforcer powers, he is not a real ref, so where on earth does that fall count as being official? That is only the icing on the cake of the epic fail that is bailing on the spear stip of the match for no apparent reason other than getting a cheap Green Bay Packers pop for that Matthews dude to make the fall. WCW 101 and it feels so good?

I agree; this was by-far one of the worst endings to WWE programming in a couple of years (not really the Clay Matthews thing, but the use of the Spear).

It's one thing to have Edge use the Spear and the referee be out cold; but for Vickie to be looking at Edge demanding he doesn't use the Spear, and then watch as he uses it a second time, and Edge not lose the match RIGHT there, is absolutely Blue. And there's nothing the WWE can do to explain why Edge wasn't DQ'ed in this instance other than admit it was an epic mistake.

I have a funny feeling there will be more to it. Vickie saw Edge do the Spear, which technically means that he lost the title. Either that or they'll forget it ever happened, which tends to be the way WWE does things these days :/

I thought it was a great ending as it was a true cliffhanger, something you don't get in the WWE now a days. And Vickie trying to spear Edge was fucking gold. My gf who never watches wrestling was rofling at how dumb she looked trying to do that.

Yea, cliffhanger is one thing but this is a cliff hanger that made no sense. I mean, maybe I am trying to analyze it too much but the ref who made the official count is some random football player and Vickie watched the 2nd spear on top of it. After she cut that promo declaring the stip, she still did not call the match? OK she is selling the ankle, but she couldnt scream at the bell keep and say ring the bell? She was well enough to scream at Edge, why couldnt she yell for the end of the match?

I honestly think it was a cheap was to get a cheap pop and cheap overness for Edge to win by Packer and to celebrate with him in the ring. It didnt need to make sense I guess as long as all the Cheese Heads got to see Matthews in the ring with Edge. :\

I didn't have a problem with Matthews being the referee; my problem was seeing Vickie alert enough to tell Edge not to use the Spear, and then Edge uses it anyways and Vickie's too incapacitated to call the match a DQ? That's not really a cliffhanger, more of a "well, we have something to try and clean up by making no sense of it."

It was a cheap pop, indeed. And I can't understand how Vickie couldn't have just yelled and motioned at the timekeeper to ring the bell. Simple.

If you watch SD it makes sense eventually. not the matthews thing, just the spear thing.
