After Microsoft’s Skype acquisition last May, many have been waiting to see what changes might be coming to the popular VOIP service. A job listing at Microsoft seems to have given it all away though, as they are currently looking to hire a ‘Software Development, Engineer, Xbox – Skype’ Read on for the listing and additional information!

Reading from the description -

This job listing is all there is to go off at the moment, but it certainly sounds like Skype is on the way to the Xbox platform. With E3 only a couple of months away, it would seem the perfect time for Microsoft to announce another wave of their Entertainment Apps which have become increasingly popular with services such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, and LoveFilm just to name a few.

There’s always the chance that it could tie directly into the Party Chat system already available on the platform, with the ability for users on other devices to join an Xbox Live Party Chat….but that’s just all speculation at the moment.

How do you think this app will affect the XBL experience?

Finally! I use skype all the time on PC so to have it on Xbox will be pretty good. I might need to get a xbox 360 chatpad keyboard thing that goes onto the bottom of the controller tho.

Looks pretty cool and it is a very creative idea I figured would come up sooner or later. That said I don't like to see people verbally bitch and moan about me kicking their ass in a game so I wouldn't use it.

Hahaha...

It's a great idea and I'm used to talking to random people online, kinda part of my job in RGC... Never the less, it means less time of me being on the Xbox just to sort shit out and more time on the PS3.

It won't changed xbox landscape of xbox really... At best, it just means xbox live parties aren't just xbox live.

From what I seen three years ago Skype was great for chatting with your friends on the computer when playing online. So it's fine but it's quite a bit late.
