Please, everybody. Just shut the fuck up.

Shut the fuck up about what I hear you ask? About how music was SOO much better in the 60s/70s/80s/90s. Just grab your fist and rip out your tongue, I do not want to hear it anymore.

This was actually brought up somewhere else, so don't think this is directed at anyone on IWF. But I am sick of people talking about how Miley cyrus and the Jonas Brothers ruined music, nobody has any talent anymore, back in the 60s/70s/80s/90s music was so much better!

So do you think way back then everybody was a Bob Dylan, everybody was The Beatles, everybody was Led Zeppelin? There was bad music back then too! Flick on the radio and it's not like you will like everything you hear. The reason we think music is so terrible right now? Yes there are some God awful bands, but that's because we remember them clearly.

Do you really think people will want to replay or talk about some shitty band from 1979, or would they talk about the good music that came from that time? All this shitty stuff is fresh in our minds, the bad music has sllowly been sifted out over the decades so what we are left with is classic music which will never grow old.

There was bad music then too! It's not like suddenly every musician on the planet became a crock of shit, there are still plenty of good bands around. There has always been good and bad music, it's nothing new douchebags.

People are afraid of change; it's like professional wrestling, as in today's product is crap compared to yesteryear's. The nostalgic factor clouds their judgment, IMO, and in turn, they want to appear better than the young 'uns, and some young 'uns who prefer older music want to appear superior to their contemporaries.

Music sucked shit in the 50's qand 60's. Listen , the reason that people think music was better back then, iss, like anything, they focus on the great parts they enjoyed, even if that great stuff was only 30% of the whole music scene. But now, in the 2000's, people look back at whatever time, and say "It was great then, and there was no jonas brothers", because they are just remembering the great stuff.

So music was not that much better at any time.
I still hate people like the Jonas Brothers, My Chemical Romance, etc, but every era has the stupid pop culture stuff. 60's had all the bouncy, lovey stuff with high voices, the 90's had boy bands, and now the 2000's have posers.

So all in all, every era has good music, and every era has bad music, but the amount of good bands are mostly the same.

I actually love newer music, I don't have a damn problem with the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus. But now, the music industry is such a joke, you can hypnotize millions of people to like some stupid song. There definitely were shitty bands during the last 40 years, but back then, there wasn't such a tie in with music and a video or a look.

I dont think you get it, I grew up listening to 80's and 90's music and that is why it will stick with me for the rest of my life. Yes I like some songs on the radio but thats it. I hated songs that were on the radio when i was younger, the fact is the radio is a global thing thats why the music you like wont be played because of the content. But the fact is, when youhave listened to a certian decade of music you adapt to it and it becomes the music of choice. I do agree the music industry influences alot of people but if you have enough commen sence you wont buy into it. Hurray for music downloads.

My personal opinion on the music nazis is that if an individual likes it then good for them. I still like Green Day to which people will say "oh they sold out, wah, wah, wah" who cares?! I like 'old' and 'new' music and I don't restrict myself to one genre. If it has a catchy beat or awesome lyrics (with the 'catchy' and 'awesome' being subjective to my own tastes of course) then I will listen to it. Be it a cheesy R 'n' B love song or a great rock song.

:nonono:

Don't ever put MCR and The Jonas Brothers in the same sentence again...

Anyway I pretty much agree with what everyone else said about there being good bands and bad bands in every era...you know just let people listen to whatever without ripping them even if the 80's and 90's are better to you...imo. :y:
