We saw Shelton lose tonight, and that's becoming a bit of a regular thing. I have nothing against Shelton, but it's becoming clear, both his fault and WWE's, that he won't be getting over 'the hump'. He's stuck. At most, he can carry the midcard title for a few months, but even then, he's an afterthought. They just dont' have the effort to build him up, and he's not exactly convincing them... I just seems they always have someone ahead of him they want to put over. That's fine by me, I don't care one way or the other, and have never been too high on the guy as a singles wrestler. But if this is the case, does anyone agree they should just reform the Worlds Greatest Tag Team?
Haas was recently drafted to SD, and this would be the best thing for both guys, IMO. It adds another tag team to WWE, and one with credibility and expierience at that, and gives them both something consistent to do. Shelton wouldn't have to be up and down in terms of his status all the time. They could actually contribute soemthing, and be valuable by adding something to the tag team scene.
Thoughts?

This ship sunk the first time they broke up in the 04 draft. 2 guys who won't get pushed as singles wrestlers won't necessarily make a good tag team. They'll just be tag team jobbers instead of singles jobbers. Haas is a joke in WWE and needs to stay away from Shelton and also the rumored Knox team. Haas has no future period.

Shelton is pretty much in Christian land where he'll never get over the hump. Taker always has some pretty even matches with him so that's kind of his last out if they ever want to push him or MITB (too late for that now though), or ECW.

In my opinion WWE should release both of them. Nobody can deny they both have some talent, but it'll never amount to anything in WWE. Haas can go to the PWG, CHIKARA type "Big Indys" and Shelton can go to TNA or go with Haas. Or they can stay in WWE and be afterthoughts. They're not getting any younger either...but yeah, the tag team idea is just rehash. A bad idea to me. They'll probably just break up again in 4 months anyway, just like WGTT '07.

Shelton is one of the best talents WWE has had in years they should push him regardless of mic skills or w/e

It would be good for Charlie Haas and good for the tag division but while Shelton is still in his prime, he has greater potential. Send him to the Land of Afterthoughts ECW and have him win the title as a sort of consolation prize, saying it's the best he'll ever get. WGTT would be nice but right now, Shelton needs better. They don't care that much about ECW as he as a top guy there would be awesome, as he doesn't need much mic time and could put on great matches.

They have pushed him numerous times. How many midcard title reigns has he had? Its got to be at least four. He just can't get over.

I like Shelton, but to call him one of the best talents in years is an exaggeration. He is athletic and capable of putting on some good matches with the right opponent. However, there have been plenty of more talented guys to come through the WWE since he debuted. Lesnar, Orton, Cena, Morrison, Punk, to name a few.

They did it once a year or two ago and essentially jobbed them. WGTT was good because of the push from being with Kurt Angle. I think both of them need new personalities. Maybe form the WGTT, but with a new twist somewhere.

I'd like to see WGTT reunite. But also so long as they are both used in some capacity for years to come I am still satisfied. Even if Shelton is in mid card hell for his entire career, he's been making good money being the perennial mid carder, and I'm happier with the fact that he's been going for as long as he's been going at the work rate he's done and still able to say that he will be with the E for a long time to come.

Can only really imagine Shelton trickling back down the card over the coming year after his latest failed mid-card title run (looks to me like Kofi is on the brink of 'stealing' his annual MITB role as the spot monkey too), so yeah, why not re-unite WGTT... They can put on a decent match, it bolsters the tag division a bit and let's face it if they became champs they'd be getting a significant deal more TV time than than they are collectively afforded now anyway.
