Surprised that no one has a thread yet in honor of The Maharaja's title defense against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Nakamura winning the belt is fine with me clearly, but I want to see Jinder retain just barely through Super Singh Bros interference. Nak obliterates the Singhs, crowd goes home happy.

I'm saying Jinder retains due to Baron Corbin ALMOST cashing in. He will come out, almost cash in, Shinsuke will get distracted, Mahal gets the upper hand and the pin, and Corbin decides to leave

I can see the SummerSlam 2013 scenario happening, tbh. Nakamura defeats Mahal and then Corbin cashes in on him afterwards.

Shinsuke wins, Corbin cashes, wins, Nakamura's rematch is on Smackdown, then he is phased out for Cena vs. Corbin for the belt, that is how it would usually be done.

Buuuuuuut, probably not.... maybe Corbin's cash in can wait and we can give a big internet darling a decent length run, we did get that with AJ....

Where yo' grandma stay.
This match is so bizarre I can barely comprehend that it's happening let alone probably co-main eventing SummerSlam. This could either be a surprise solid 3.25 or a complete dumpster fire, no in between. I'll just echo what y'all are saying because I don't think this match could end any other way. Corbin's championship reign will probably be boring and won't last until WrestleMania. So here's to hoping AJ or fuck it even Cena take it off him.

*SummerSlam*
~ Owens defeats Styles clean...
~ Corbin defeats Cena clean...Cena moves to RAW to build for Reigns match...
~ Nakamura hits a Kinshasa on Jinder within a minute and wins the title...
~ Corbin blindsides Nakamura with the briefcase after coming through the crowd...
~ Corbin cashes in and wins the title...
~ Corbin feuds with Nakamura and then possibly Styles...

Long term plan:
~ Nakamura eventually wins the title back at the Royal Rumble 2018...
possibly from Corbin...may-be Owens...whoever the top heel is at that time...
~ Styles wins the Royal Rumble...

@Wrestlemania 34:
~ Styles vs. Nakamura for the World title...
~ Cena vs. Reigns for the Universal title...

The "fans" get a main event...and Vince gets a main event...

Just a few ideas...

But...it is possible the WWE may hold off on Corbin cashing in if they
actually want Nakamura to have a run with the top belt. They may push
for a Styles/Nakamura feud sooner rather than later to increase ratings
and interest.

Plus...I can't see Corbin & Carmella cashing in at the same event...so
its possible Corbin will go over Cena so he can finally build some proper
momentum while Carmella gets the nod to cash in on Naomi or Nattie...
or both making it a triple threat.

Either way...I think the Jinder Experiment has been a failure...mainly
because he's wrestled 3 pay per view main events against the same
guy...and while I enjoyed the Backlash match simply because Jinder
won...the other two were pretty ordinary in my opinion.

I understand why Jinder was paired why Orton for his feud run...I just
think it led to some boring matches and repetitive promos.

Putting the belt (and keeping it) on Nakamura would be exciting...and
a possible feud with Styles would surely provide at least 1 or 2 first
class wrestling matches.

I don't think Corbin is ready...(neither is Carmella in my opinion) so I
think it would be the best option to hold off on a Corbin cash in.

Though I would really prefer to wait until after the go home show before making a final prediction on this match (you know, just in case they give us any kind of indication or drop a clue), my thinking as of now is the concept of a failed cash in situation, something last done 4 years ago with Damien Sandow. That is, of course, should there be a cash in attempt to begin with.

The "problem" with this idea is that WWE are obviously very high on Corbin (which is why he won MITB in the first place) however I feel it's as clear as day that he simply isn't ready just yet for that next big step. I am honestly not one to shit on the guy and can certainly see him as champion some time down the road (perhaps another year or so) but as of now, I just don't see the timing being right.

I also find it impossible to believe that Nakamura would eat his first pin and suffer his first loss on the main roster to either Jinder Mahal or Baron Corbin. I just can't, period, no matter if a protected loss or not. He's one of the biggest stars of the roster, one of the biggest stars around the world all around, still undefeated and one that even John Cena put over cleanly not so long ago; you mean to tell me they are going to waste all that on either Mahal or Corbin?

In other words, if Nakamura wins, he's winning all the way, even if there's a cash in attempt afterwards. Once more, I find it impossible to believe that Nakamura would win his first championship, only to lose it...5 minutes later so, if anything, make him an even bigger star by pinning both Jinder and then Corbin if that's the case.

On the other hand, if WWE are looking to keep Jinder as champion, the only way I see it happening is if Corbin cashes in DURING the match, turning it into a triple-threat. This way you protect Nakamura since he wouldn't have to be pinned and you could have Jinder retain at the same time by pinning Corbin instead.

I guess the gist of all this is...Corbin is fucked either way :p
