SRC training player Shigeki Osawa will return to MMA against Tim Wadsworth. Canadian Elite Mixed Martial Arts has announced the fight for their upcoming event “Global Warming,â€￾ which takes place May 28 in Ontario, Canada.

World Victory Road, the parent company of SRC, is experiencing financial and management difficulties. The promotion has not held a press conference since their “Soul of Fightâ€￾ event. Osawa is a part of their training player program, which provides fighters money to train as they develop into MMA fighters.

The Yoshida Dojo product earned training player status due to his extensive list of wrestling accomplishments. He finished eighth at the World University Championships and won the 2007 All-Japan Wrestling Championships. Despite transitioning into MMA, Osawa still plans on wrestling in the 2012 Olympics.

Osawa is currently 6-1 as a professional. His lone defeat came at the hands of Bellator fighter Ronnie Mann. In his last MMA fight, he won via disqualification over Katsuya Toida at SRC 13. However, in February he made his Shoot Boxing debut and dropped a decision to Hiroaki Suzuki.

Wadsworth is 5-0 so far in his career. The BTT Canada fighter defeated Dwight Sutherland with a rear-naked choke at Ringside MMA “Rageâ€￾ earlier this month.
