Shelly to WWE?

* In an update on Alex Shelley to WWE, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer is reporting Shelley has received phone calls from WWE. Shelley has not agreed a deal with the company as of yet. Prior to WWE calling Shelley, he was looking at working in Japan and possibly for Dragon Gate USA.

I seem to remember a lot of people saying that Bryan Danielson and CM Punk would never be pushed by WWE.

Now, I don't think they get the recognition they really deserve for the talent they have, but ..........

He's got the talent but he'd probably be deemed too small in a similar vein to Aries imo, Punk and even Bryan are both pretty big compared to Alex.

What about the availability to use him well in a tag-team?

Shelley can work in a team but that would involve an interest in having tag teams, which is lacking. Plus if you want him to team with anyone you may aswell get Sabin with him, one of the best teams currently.

I'm not sure if you're up to date in WWE but the tag-team division is under a very very slow anti-climatic revival. We're actually seeing regular tag-teams most shows now.

Not bothered watching the past few weeks, plus they focus on various aspects for a few months then drop them so my optimism shall be kept in reserve for now.

Fair enough, I wouldn't watch if I was you. OTL was good though if you haven't seen it (MOTY candidate with Bryan/Punk [who are now feuding, sorry for spoilers] and a couple other sick matches).
