Join us tonight, July 15th, for live results and commentary of Shark Fights 17, airing live on HDNet at 10:00 PM ET. The event will be headlined by a rematch between former UFC veterans Matt Horwich and Jake Rosholt. Horwich won the first encounter via TKO in the third round in a contest last November. Former UFC champion Ricco Rodriguez will also be on the card, but his opponent is undetermined at the moment as Karl Knothe came in severely overweight at the weigh-ins. Shark Fights is actively looking for an opponent, although the fight may be scrapped altogether.

I'll be providing live play-by-play here while also providing instant analysis via Twitter at @lelandroling. As always, make your comments in the results thread, join the discussion, give your analysis, and have a few laughs with our community members.

Shark Fights 17: Horwich vs. Rosholt II
July 15, 2011
Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas

Middleweight (Main Event): Matt Horwich vs. Jake Rosholt
Heavyweight: Ricco Rodriguez vs. Doug Williams Karl Knothe **
Light Heavyweight: Emanuel Newton vs. Ilir Latifi
Featherweight: Erik Perez vs. Douglas Frey
Light Heavyweight: Daniel Almeida vs. Doug Williams

** - Knothe weighed in nearly 24 lbs. overweight, Rodriguez has declined to fight him after receiving an offer for more money to take the fight. Shark Fights is reportedly trying to find a last second replacement. According to a report at MMAJunkie.com, Knothe's manager never notified him of the catchweight, yet he still tried to make the cut down to 230 lbs. the night before despite being misinformed. Shark Fights owner Bud Brutsman claimed that Knothe ended up making it down to 238 lbs., still 8 lbs. shy of the mark.
