“The first thing, and this is something I’ve shared with my wife and family, is my love for the sport. This is what I love to do, and it’s something I’m very passionate about. I’m chasing my dream. I’ll see my surgeon, and I think it’s 100 percent, most likely, that I’ll be cleared. What’s going on right now is the nerves in my legs are regenerating from the surgery I had in my mid-back. It was the T-10 through T-11. A bulging disc, ruptured disc, compressed spinal cord. It’s tough to come back from, but I’m excited, and the surgeon has been very positive. One of my concerns is, how is this gonna affect me when I’m 65? Am I still gonna be able to be healthy and move around? He said, with 100 percent assurance, that I’ll be fine. If the doctor said it was a definite risk to my health, yeah, I have a family. I have two kids. I have a loving wife at home, and that’s the most important thing to me is my family.â€

I'm looking forward to seeing him return to the UFC. Too bad he couldn't have fought on the all Heavyweight UFC 146 card, would've been a nice addition.

I've been awaiting his return for a long time. It's gonna be awesome when he can return.

I heard Mid 2012 he'll be back, so it should be coming up soon. His name has been linked to Barnett and Cormier as well.

The guy can take some serious hits... so hopefully when he gets back he can still take the punishment as well as deliver it.

I looked on his Wiki and honestly can't remember him vs JDS, I thought his last fight was Lesnar.

His last 3 fights have been pretty crazy, JDS, Brock, Frank Mir, The fight with Brock was BS though.

I was hoping that he would have recovered in time for the heavyweight card because it would have been a great way for him to return. Glad to read that he is on track to return in a couple of months time, always entertaining to watch and there are plenty of fresh opponents for him when he is healthy.

His fight with JDS was rather one sided... but mannnn the guy took a head kick in the 3rd round and stood there like... oh that hit me? He is as durable as they come.

Plus he trimmed down from his 265 frame and I think he came in between 255-260 for the JDS fight. He lasted all three rounds and looked pretty good.

Hopefully we'll see him back in the Summer or early Autumn. The HW division is pretty stacked right now so he'll have plenty of opportunities to climb up the ranks to an eventual title shot.
