I posted the date the way it should be written, so yeah. Anyway, this will be my thoughts on Smackdown with minimal match recapping because I only saw the show 2 nights ago.

John Morrison/CM Punk def. Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas in 15:39

Very solid opener here, and this match is the type of thing that we should see every week on each show. A tag team or midcard match that lasts longer than 10 minutes and draws the crowd in. We get to see some very good wrestling, and I think that is what Raw needs on their weekly show, especially since their longest match this week was 6 minutes and it was the type of match that was similiar to this one, and had the potential to go over 10 and showcase all 4 guys in some great wrestling. Wow, long sentence. Anyway, this match was good not only for the wrestling but for a number of other reasons. We got to continue to follow John Morrison in his face turn and elevation up the card, and teaming him with Punk is a great thing for that. I'm glad Morrison got the pin (Starship Pain ftw) and I'm also glad Punk and Morrison's past rivalries were mentioned, only to see them embrace at the end. As for a WGTT reunion, I think this was more of a tease and just a bit of mutual partnership, without leading to anything big.

***1/2- Very good TV match that made all 4 guys look strong.

Chris Jericho came out next for a promo and unsurprisingly he got massive heat. I'm starting to get a little bored of his banter about hypocrites and tapeworms, buyt inserting the meaning of JD and going on about the rapture was pretty cool. I wasn't exactly following the conspiracy part of his speech but nevertheless, it got him over as the guy EVERYONE hates, especially when Edge came out. Edge came out to a pop and he got some pops afterwards, and idk if this is just me, but he seemed to enjoy them. The line about saying he has 9 world titles compared to Jericho's 9 IC titles was awesomely pwnage. Anyway, after some bickering and some small yet significant building towards their JD matches, Teddy Long comes out and announces a main event between them in true Teddy Long fashion. Wow, he is stale.

****
- The two best promo men in the business (and Teddy) made this very entertaining, and hyped up their respective JD matches alright as well.

Jeff Hardy def. Ricky Ortiz in 3:36

Glorified squash match here, and Ortiz got more offense than he could have ever hoped for. Welcome to Smackdown, buddy, next week you job to Edge.

*1/2- It introduced Ricky Ortiz to the world but I doubt the world remembers him by now.

Anyways, after the match we get a short Jeff Hardy promo, and it was pretty bad. Jeff went all Cena and sounded gay during his lines, and that mathematical shit he did about Edge losing every 2nd PPV just confused the crowd, and probably himself. His voice is still really cringe-worthy, but at least the crowd (women) still pop for him. If he's ever stuck, he'll just take his shirt off. Jeff's best promos are when he is extreme and crazy, so plz, just have him do those.

**- Pretty average, but did an okay job at hyping his match with Edge.

Gail Kim/Melina def. Michelle McCool/Alicia Fox in 4:26

All 4 divas were looking pretty hot here, but Gail Kim looked a little more asian than she usually does. Interesting point is that Melina's offense was extremely heelish when she got her hot tag. A turn would be great for the champ, but I guess we have to see her face tenure run its course. Alicia Fox was alright in the ring, but I was transfixed by her hair. That shit is scary! Anyway, the match was sloppy at times but also showed how good there girls are at times with some nice spots, such asGail Kim going to springboard over the rope only to be pulled to the floor. Ouch. Anyway, the faces should have and did win with some okay teamwork, but something needs to happen from here as I'm not aware of any feuds going on. Possibly melina vs Gail with the champ turning heel at one point? I'd like that.

**1/4- Actually a pretty solid divas match here with the faces getting over, but where do they go from here?

Dolph Ziggler def. Jimmy Wang Yang in 3:58

This match didn't really interest me except in wondering where they will take Ziggler. Hopefully he wins the IC title after Jericho's interference to get him more over. Yang got in some impressive kicks at one stage but that was all he got as Ziggler won with a leaping reverse DDT (think reverse Paydirt) maneuver. He looked very good in the ring and you could tell he knew what he was doing, a very good sign. Khali cam out afterwards to squash Dolph, who bailed.

*3/4
- Very meh here, but I like the push they're giving Ziggler.

Next we see a segment backstage with Cryme Tyme, Eve and Layla. Now, I would usually complain about something like this but I won't. Layla has the most heel heat out of any diva right now as shown from her entrance last week, and it's all becuase of these segments, which also are getting Eve over. The dance was hot and the arm wreslte was meh, but they both got a feud over without having to have the two girls in the ring, which would be a bad match. So good booking here. Anyway, the segment was pretty lulz with the powder and then brawl. Also, they give Cryme Tyme something to do as there are no other tag teams on the blue brand for them.

***1/4- Enjoying this mini feud between Layla/Eve and this segment was pretty funny.

R-Truth def. Mike Knox in 2:35

What the fuck is this? Last week Knox looks dominant as shit but this week he loses in 2 minutes to a flippy turd half his size with a move even Vickie Guerrero could kick out of? That kind of booking pisses me off, although the match itself was solid for the time it got. Sigh, just as I thought there would be a Knox push this happens. There goes my GM Pool. Anyway, fire Truth, push Knox, etc.

*3/4- Fuck Truth, Knox shouldn't have lost, especially after that shitty flip.

Now we get Josh Matthews backstage with Rey Mysterio, who shouldn't be allowed to talk outside his birthday. Not only is he shit at promos, but in this one you couldn't tell the English from the Spanish. It seemed like it all built to the line, "Jericho, at JD you don't need to worry about a conspiracy, you need to worry about the 619".

**- I gave the Hardy promo this as well, and although Mysterio seriously needs a mouthpiece (Ortiz?) , it got over his match with Jericho and got him a pop.

Edge/Chris Jericho NO CONTEST in 14:34

Raw should learn a lesson from this match as well. Who said two main eventers can't go at it in a great match before a PPV? It's not like it has to have a clean ending as shown here. Anyway, both men looked great in this match and went into the PPV strong. The ending with the chair was cleverly devised in making it have no winners. I would have liked a victor, but it was never gonna happen so whatever. I'll sit tight and be glad about the fact we got such a stellar main event match. Long gone are the days where we would get Taker/Festus or Show/Hardy in 6 minute main events, this is the NEW Smackdown.

***1/2
- Very good match, and the finish dissappoints a tad, but I guess we weren't gonna see a clean win anyway.

*******
- Out of 10, fools. Anyway, this was another great SD with awesome beginnings and ends but the middle got a little meh at times, alhough nothing to change the channel over. If they keep this up, I just might have to review them every week. Anyway, hope you liked my first review.

nice review here. i only watched from j.hardy match to r-truth. i would agree on alot of the star rating you have done for those matches.(except for knox/truth that was * or 2/10 for me)

Knox shouldnt of lost to r-truth. Knox losing to a forearm that didnt connect to knox head.

i have recorded the show so i can view y2J vs Edge.

Very good review. You should keep it up. I completely agree. There was almost no flaws int his week's SD. Just a good overall balance.

Wanna see just WGTT vs Punk/Morrison.

Did they mention at all that just 2 years ago Punk & Morrison were battling over the ECW title?
