At the end of Monday's episode of RAW, we saw Triple H return to television and announce that he would be taking over Vince McMahon's duties behind the scenes, effectively relieving Vince of his day-to-day duties.

Former WWE star Sean Waltman went on Twitter following RAW and said that Vince McMahon really is stepping down from his job as Chairman and CEO:

"The text [Triple H] sent me today makes much more sense now. That was the real deal, that last 5 or however many minutes."

Waltman also noted that WWE should "careful that this doesn't really affect the stock price."

WWE's stock is already down over 30% this year.

So it's been said to be legit? If it is, it will be interesting to see how HHH runs things from here on.

You have to look at the source though. Your getting it from a source who still has extremely close and loyal ties to HHH so his comments mean nothing to me. Though I do believe this will be a real transition faze not HHH taking over outright just them announcing that it's whats to come.

There may well be truth to it, but it is not Waltman's place to say anything, he is just looking for attention.

The same day X-Pac came out and said that people were mis-interpreting what he said. He meant to say that it felt real not that it actually was real.

It is just a storyline.

Well there is some truth to it and HHH maybe taking over more of the day to day but Vince isn't going away until he's dead.

^Exactly Vince will do this until the day he dies and once that happens HHH will take over. I like seeing HHH in this role as it is refreshing seeing a new authority figure that actually has storyline power and it is good getting a break from him in the ring. It means that when he does wrestle it will be more special.

One of many issues with how raw ended last week and this new dierection, is that we have had the whole owner running raw, being on TV, making big decissions, getting heat off the crowd and different wrestlers for years now, and it has just gotten boring. Also HHH might be good on the mic, but I don't see him ever being as good as Vince in this role. It would be much better for him to remain as a part-time wrestler, until the day he retires. The guy is still able to put on solid matches, and I think can be useful to younger talent much more in that role.

I find it refreshing since for over a decade it was Vince but now we get HHH who everyone knows as one of the biggest wrestlers of his generation. I think that this is a good way to use HHH whilst he is wrestling but I would still like to see him wrestle a couple of times a year since it will draw and he can help put guys over and take them to the next level.

I don't think we need another heel authority figure anymore. We've seen this type of character since 98 and it's time for something different. I like Triple H, but I don't want to see him plastered all over my TV like Vince used to do.

Maybe its time for a Jack Tunney type of character who just shows up to make the big decisions.

HHH is a face at the moment though and I hope he stays that way to again make it different from the last decade of authority figures.

It would be good if he came out only when big decisions needed to be made because it makes his role seem even more important but WWE will have him on weekly at least for the time being.

Will most likely be a transition type of angle where Triple H takes the reigns of the shows, possibly getting Punk back.

I just hope this doesn't become another McMahon powerstruggle storyline. Seen that done too many times.

I am with you on this one, not only have we see these types of stories for many years in WWF/E, but in wrestling as a whole from WCW to TNA, from ECW to smaller indie promotions. It has gotten very old hat, it can work still, but only if it is used very rarely.
