Sean Soriano vs. Estevan Payan added to UFC on FOX 11 in Orlando
A featherweight bout between Sean Soriano (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Estevan Payan (14-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has further bolstered April’s UFC on FOX 11 lineup.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
UFC on FOX 11 takes place April 19 at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Soriano vs. Payan will likely be part of the prelims.
Soriano made his promotional debut earlier this year after a posting an 8-0 record (with six stoppages) fighting with CFA and other regional promotions. However, at UFC Fight Night 34, the 24-year-old Blackzilian suffered his first career loss after big-show vet Tatsuya Kawajiri tapped him out with a second-round rear-naked choke.
Payan, meanwhile, finds himself in a must-win situation following back-to-back UFC losses to Jeremy Stephens and Robbie Peralta. Prior to the setbacks, the 31-year-old Arizona Combat Sports fighter had won seven straight fights, two of which came in Strikeforce in outside promotions.
