-----------

Cole has definitely been complimentary on his way out so I do doubt whether he would have said the pitch was actually true but given SRS' track record i'm inclined to trust him. Definitely another huge swing and a miss for Meltzer though.

I for one am shocked that a certain mentally ill fan, would print any story he hears secondhand.

Well, that’s good. At least Vince hasn’t completely lost damn mind yet.

Dave loses again, not surprised but glad people are starting to sense a lot of things.

Not really a debunking though. Just because Cole and a collection of other people never heard the pitch, doesn't mean the pitch never existed at some stage in the creative process.

It does at least change the perception that Cole left after hearing this particular ludicrous pitch though.

I feel like they probably had a ton of ideas brainstormed out and this was the funniest one so it got talked about enough to get to Meltzer.

New Day did a podcast once where they just went down the huge list of names that were brainstormed for their group back in the day and laughed at how absurd a lot of them were so this was probably something similar. Getting a bunch of ideas to pick from with some input from Cole probably too if he stayed

Yeah, I agree with that. And I'm sure this is far from the worst idea that was thrown around, even. Just the worst one that ended up being leaked.

Regardless, I also think people lose sight of the fact that when it comes to any wrestling journalist who is reporting a story from "sources", there is a decent probability that any given report is bullshit or could have been muddled down by way of the game of telephone. Should be kind of common sense that unless you're hearing something straight from the source, there is no guarantee of its validity. Yet some people continually choose to take things as gospel, while others can't wait to tear down these reporters when they're wrong. I find it pretty funny.

Yeah maybe the title is slightly off but it was definitely meant to debunk that particular pitch to come up to the main roster with.

It doesn't help that most of the popular "journalist" dudes will verify stuff before but Meltzer will blurt shit out with no regard :lol the Bray Wyatt report was hilarious with people in AEW texting him like wtf are you on bro?
