One of the funniest Steiner stories I remember hearing is he and his opponent (Can't remember who, obviously someone smaller) were working out the match, and the opponent was telling Scott they needed to put over his speed to sell the match and Scott was like "What? You're not faster than me!" and the guy was like "yea, I know, but for the match..." and Scott was like "Come on! Let's race! You're not faster than me!" and wanted to race the guy down the hall lmao

I listen to the new gen podcast and they always talk about how impressive it is seeing Steiner treat guys like the Warlord like a wet towel.

Young Steiner is one of the all around best athletes I've ever seen in wrestling as far as pure size/speed/strength. He lost a lot of his athleticism for the ascetics of being Big Poppa Pump

I'm sitting here trying to think of guys who can match his athleticism and drawing a blank. Some guys can match his speed OR power, but both? Idk. Lesnar be about it.

Probably just thought "Steiner... Steiner brothers... tag team act...."

Steiner said in an old interview (his RF shoot interview, I believe) that Vince originally wanted to split the Steiner Brothers up and push Scott as a singles star, but he and Rick wanted to remain together as a tag team at that point. And that would have been right in the middle of Hogan's departure/Luger's push, even though I never heard of any distinct plans of wanting to push him as the #1 guy.

Jericho also said in his second book that when Steiner returned as "Big Poppa Pump" in 2002, management originally had big plans for him but his shit matches with HHH at the '03 Rumble and No Way Out put a damper on them (I'm skeptical of what these "big plans" may have been anyhow as it seemed clear to me either way that he was being fed to HHH for the sole purpose of getting across the idea of WWE>WCW.)
