According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Hulk Hogan was originally scheduled to be the guest on the Steve Austin WWE Network podcast on August 3rd. The podcast, set to take place immediately following Raw, will now feature WWE Diva and Tough Enough judge, Paige, instead.

The youngest ever Divas Champion will no doubt be there to promote WWE’s declining reality TV show. With all due respect to here, this is obviously a step down from Hogan, in terms of fan interest. After all, Hogan and Austin are two of WWE’s biggest ever names and the prospect of seeing them verbally spar would have certainly drawn people to the programme.

Austin and Hogan have had a strained relationship in the past, with The Texas Rattlesnake partially blaming Hogan over his lack of push in WCW in the mid-90s. When Hogan returned to WWE in early 2002 as a member of the nWo, Austin was vocal in his displeasure with the angle and famously refused to work a programme with the Hulkster.

It would have been interesting to see if Austin would have taken Hogan to task over these issues, but that’s not going to happen now. Hogan is no longer a WWE employee and WWE are doing everything they can to distance themselves from him.

Even though he was a judge on Tough Enough before his firing, it’s very doubtful that Austin or Paige will bring him up during the podcast.

WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN YOUR WORLD CRUMBLES DOWN ON YOU! BROTHER.

Paige is no better of a choice, lol. Hogan's one would be boring as well. Would rather have Kevin Owens or Brock Lesnar.

Great, this podcast i'm skipping. Last person i want to see on his podcast is Paige. They could of done better than that. I guess since this whole divas revolution thing is happening they wanted to get 1 chick in there.

Definitely would've been more interested if they got someone like Lesnar, Ambrose, Owens, or even Cesaro. I don't know, I still might watch this one.

I remember feeling underwhelmed last night when I saw the commercial announcing that a new episode of the Steve Austin podcast was gonna be on the Network, but then they announced that Paige would be the guest instead of someone that was, you know, interesting. Not that I have anything against Paige, but I can't imagine she has anything to say that I would care about.

Plus, I've been wanting to see Hogan as a guest on Austin's podcast for quite a while now, but that's no one's fault but the Hulkster's. I suppose. Next time make sure there's no camera around when you go on a racist tirade, Hulk!

I like paige and all but the interviews with H, Vince and Paul they all had stories I liked hearing. And answers I wanted to hear. But paige she may have stories but not ones I honestly care about.
