Not sure if any of you have seen this yet

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Samoa Joe is reportedly involved in early plans that would see him called up to the main WWE roster and get a monster push in time for Wrestlemania 33.

It was noted that the plans for Wrestlemania aren’t finalized, but the idea on the table would have Joe be in a top match at the event. It was also speculated that Joe would likely start very soon in order for this plan to kick off, and it makes sense for him to appear in the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant and have a big showing.

Joe’s lack of appearances at the most recent set of NXT TV tapings, in addition to him losing to Shinsuke Nakamura two times in a row on TV and Bobby Roode being NXT’s top heel, were brought up as reasons why Joe’s debut in the Rumble would make sense, but his status for the Rumble event remains unconfirmed.

What do you think his role will be?

I'm not going to lie... I think Samoa Joe Vs Kevin Owens beating the crap out of each other could be pretty sweet

@Jacob Fox talked about it in this thread and suggested Joe as the winner of the Rumble followed by a match with Styles at Mania.

I said I loved the idea, and I'm gonna post the same answer here... That'd be incredibly bold on WWE's part, giving Joe the monster push right off the bat, which is why I don't see them doing it.

Although, stranger things have happened.

Also, Joe vs KO is highly unlikely since KO's going to lose the belt to Roman at the Rumble. KO vs Jericho for the US title is pretty much a lock for Mania.

As for Joe vs Roman for the title (if Joe ends up winning the Rumble), I don't see it happening either, tbh. Joe's most likely going to be on SD, as he should.

Menh... I'd be more interested in the stuff he could do on RAW... I've seen AJ Vs Joe a million times already

It's not about seeing Joe vs Styles again, buddy. It's about RAW mishandling their talent.

And yes, we would all mark for Joe and we'd be looking forward to his run on RAW and then we'd end up disappointed in the same way we're disappointed that KO has been a shit champ.

Joe is better off on SD, as is The Revival, Nakamura, etc.

I probably actually misrepresented my opinion. I actually meant that Samoa Joe vs John Cena was the most likely match. The fact that Cena has faced ROH's Kevin Steen and TNA's AJ Styles upon their arrival on the main roster, it makes sense to me that Cena vs Joe MIGHT be in the making.

If Undertaker is off the table, then who really is a suitable match for Cena at WrestleMania? Unless they do something to put Cena against Roman in an odd attempt to get Roman over, then Cena vs Joe makes a lot of sense given Cena's last couple years.

Where yo' grandma stay.
Considering this happens he probably won't win but he'll be over on whatever show they put him on. Which it has to be Smackdown, they need him, Ambrose Vs. Joe or even Cena Vs. Joe would be awesome.

Well, either way, Cena vs Joe would be fine with me as much as Styles vs Joe. If WWE actually gives Joe the monster push right off the bat, hats off to them.
