2012 truly is the year of the trilogy.
The latest addition to the 3-peat extravaganza features a lightweight bout between Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher who will meet at UFC on FX 4 in June.
Sources close to the bout confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday. Sportsnet.CA first reported the contest.
Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher first met at UFC 58 all the way back in 2006 with the Canadian Stout coming out on top via split decision.
Fast forward to June 2007 and the two powerful lightweights met again, this time with Fisher getting the best of Stout by decision.
Now they will do it all again at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City on June 22.
Fisher will definitely be looking to get back on track after two losses in a row, and coming up short in four out of his last five bouts. Stout meanwhile has compiled a 2-2 record in his last four UFC contests.
The bout order for UFC on FX 4 has yet to be announced so it’s not official if Stout vs. Fisher 3 will make the televised card or the undercard.
Kind of excited for this fight, hopefully it ends up on the main card.
