Okay, so I just beat Saints Row last night. I love the game. I think its the best Grand Theft Auto style game there is....hell I like it better then any of the GTA games. But I have to admit the ending left me very disapointed. There is in fact 2 actual endings.

1) After you take over all of Stillwater, Jules calls you while driving to tell you he's proud of you. How they may have lost some battles (the chick from the Saints who gets killed while pretending to be a member of the Rollerz), etc. As he's talking it shows clips of the various people in the game basicly coming to grips with everything that has happend. Jules tells you that you are not his right hand man and then police lights start flashing and he says he'll have to call you back. The credits roll and you think thats the end, but that was only the first ending.

2) Next you find yourself standing in front of the church again. And there is a marker simalar to the ones you used to start Los Carnales, Vice Kings and Rollerz Missions, only its called a 3rd Street Saints Mission. When you start it, your cell phone rings and its the Chief of Police. He tells you that he has Jules and if you want to see him alive again you have to do what he wants. So he tells you to kill the Mayor. If you listen to the Talk Radio Station when driving you always hear an Aldermen talking about how he's running for Mayor and how the Mayor refused the Chief of Police's request for more protective armor for the police force. So you hijack the Mayor's bus park it on train tracks and the Mayor is killed when the train crashes into it.

There is then a new mission at the church. This time the Chief says there is still more. So you Dex & Johnny decide that rather then doing the Chief's bidding your just going to kill him instead. You ambush him in the funrual percession for the Mayor, and kill him. When the mission is over, your cell rings and its the Alderman, who thanks you for handing him the election. He says he had nothing to do with the Chief's plans and he would like to invite you and Jules to his Yauct to discuss the future before his big benifit and press confrence.

You arrive at the Yauct and a new cinimatic starts up. Jules is also not with you for some reason. The Alderman tries to shake your hand, but you refuse. The Alderman explains that thanks to the Saints becoming the most feared group in all of Stillwater the resistance for his urban renewal program that was pissed on before because he was displacing poor people is not being praised because he is wiping out a gang. He says that although he thanks you for helping him, its time for him to put a stop to you. Your character speaks up (and its funny because your character never seems to talk, but in the last mission for each gang he does speak even if its a couple words) In this one he says "Can you hurry the fuck up, I want to goto Freckle Bitches" The Alderman tells you that your not going anywhere because he brought you here to kill you. While all this was being explained you see the other members of the Saints Jules looking off a bridge across the water at the Yauct, Johnny with his gf and his gf concerned and looking at her watch. Dex and the other guy too (can't remember his name) all like they know something is going to happen.

Just as the Alderman is about to give the order to kill you, the Yauct blows up!!! (and this is the part that pissed me off) That was it, game over. As the second set of credits play a news report starts explaing the explotion, and how the Alderman can not be found and it is uncertain if he was on the yauct at the time or not. And that was it. Now I beat the main game, there are lots of activities still to do, which you can still go back, load the game again and do anyways, but the only main mission left after that last save you do, is the one that you go to be killed on the yauct.

Now I know they are making a Saints Row 2. And I'm happy about that. And I'm hoping that its the reminants of the 3 gangs that were left that were responsible for your death, and so the main story of this one be the Saints fighting off new gangs as well as trying to figure out who killed you and avenge your death, then thats cool. If in the 2nd one I find out the Saints had me killed for some reason, I'm going to be even more pissed then I was about the ending of the 1st one!

Cliffhanger - Wikipedia.org said:
A cliffhanger or cliffhanger ending is a plot device in which a movie, novel, or other work of fiction contains an abrupt ending, often leaving the main characters in a precarious or difficult situation. This type of ending is used to ensure that, if a next installment is made, audiences will return to find out how the cliffhanger is resolved. The phrase comes from the classical end-of-episode situation in silent film days, with the protagonist left hanging from the edge of a cliff. Some serials end with the caveat "To be continued",Or The End? (the series finales for Duckman and Clone High parodied this caveat). In television series, the following episode usually begins with a recap (AKA a "previously").
Geez, don't go jumping gun already. Saints Row 2 would have to pick up where the first one left off. THQ is building up the story to solve the issue of the player character.

I have a question I just did the final mission again and I don't understand are all the Saints cops????(Because those guys were holding cop badges)

If Saints Row takes place in Stillwater again it will suck......Why do you think Rockstar took so long to revist Liberty City???? (Because they knew exploring the same place again would suck).

I saw no cop badges. And rockstar didn't revisit liberty city because that story was over. When Vice City came out, people were really getting into the 80's stuff again. I mean Miami Vice was playing on Spike TV on a regular basis, everyone was reliving the 80's and Rockstar capitalized on it.

But seriously, I'll be getting my hands on Saints Row 2 to see what happens next. The cliffhanger in the first game, like I said before, is there to both build up interest for next title and leave fans and other gamers wanting to know just what happened.

I think somewhere down the line, if there's enough interest in the game here at the IWF, then we could make a "Saints Row 2" thread or something.

I won't really like if the go back to Stillwater because nothing really changed. What's really the point to revist it what so your guy gets sum pay back????

I really thought that white guy that was part of the Saints had a cop badge. I got to replay this now just to prove you wrong...*sigh*

Hold on there, skipper! We don't know if the game will once again take place in Stillwater, or if it will be updated or not.

There isn't ANY other news on the game since it was first announced! Besides, with GTA IV in existance, SR2 will have to 'step it up a notch or two' to keep up and stand on its own two feet.

The gang is called the 3rd Street Saints they reside in Saints Row. I doubt the gang will be moved to another place for that reason. I'm just stating that I would hate the idea if it was back in Stillwater.
