Another bout has been added to the Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy card in January, as Ryan Couture will square off with K.J. Noons. The event goes down January 12 from Oklahoma City.
Noons (11-5) has split his six Strikeforce fights, and is a one-time challenger to the welterweight crown. He was stopped by Josh Thomson in his last bout.

Couture (5-1) has had all six of his pro fights inside the Strikeforce cage. He is the son of former UFC champion Randy Couture.

This is an awesome fight, but it's also a HUGE step up in competition for Couture, hopefully a win here will earn him a UFC contract. Also here's the rest of the card for this show. Melendez/Healy and this Couture/Noons fight are good but the rest is just meh i guess. They really couldn't find better opponents for Cormier and Marquardt. Oh well.

Gilbert Melendez vs. Pat Healy - for lightweight title
Luke Rockhold vs. Lorenz Larkin - for middleweight title
Nate Marquardt vs. Tarec Saffiedine - for welterweight title
Daniel Cormier vs. Dion Staring
Ryan Couture vs. K.J. Noons

I have absolutely no idea who Staring is but at the end of the night he will be, bad pun time, staring at the ceiling. Disappointing that they couldn't find anyone better to face Cormier, hell even sending Kongo across would have been better.

I hope that Ryan Couture can get the win here as I want to see him in UFC with Randy coaching him. If he does make it to UFC would it be the first ever father-son to fight in UFC?

Pretty sure it would be, can't see it happening though if he loses this fight.

I just had a look and I didn't realise he was 30. I thought that he was 20 and was just starting in his career, didn't realise he started MMA much later.
