Russell Crowe gets his obsessed squint on as Javert in 'Les Mis' -- PHOTO

In its heyday, the bicorne was widely worn throughout the 19th century by European and American military officers. Today, wearing the hat pretty much means you’re trying to look like two people: Napoléon Bonaparte, or Javert from Les Misérables. Only one, however, is best known for breaking into song.

Interestingly, Russell Crowe could credibly pull off either man with this look. But this shot of the Oscar-winning actor is from the set of director Tom Hooper’s production of Les Mis, with Crowe playing the obsessed French lawman in pursuit of Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman).
