According to the Wrestling Observer, the decision was made to rarely go Live for IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike TV. The plan going forward, at least for tapings on the Eastern time zone, is to start filming the first show about one hour before it airs.
The first show is taped without commercial breaks so they can get the two hour broadcast done in 90-100 minutes and then they can tape a second show from 8:40 p.m. until 10:15 p.m.
TNA finished taping the two shows in Indiana, PA at 10:15 p.m. If they went Live with the first show and then still had to tape a second show, the entire event would not have ended until 11:45 p.m. on a school/work night and families would leave during the second show, which already has the handicap of trying to get the audience to pop when the same wrestlers are rolled out again.
I get why they're doing this. Well, at least they're still on the fucking road.
