RTF Day 4: Brandon Vera

Kinda of disappointed we were only able to pull 7 votes. But hell it's an improvement. So we'll keep moving on. Lets try for 8 this week. But will settle for no less then 7.

But now to move on. BJ Penn finds himself at the bottom of the pack coming in with a 8.34. So on to the next fighter Brandon Verra.

Not much to say about the guy since he's pretty new compared to many other in the sport. He is looking to turn around his record after two straight wins. Able to pull a win over Reese he is looking to continue on by pulling another win over Keith Jardine.

As for my score the fact that he is working back from 2 straight loses and also the fact he is pretty new compared to other I'm going to go with a 7.5

I'll give him a 7.3/10, he's a good fighter and still very young. He has a victory (first round TKO) over frank mir, which is pretty big if you ask me. If the guy beats jardine at UFC 89 then he'll sure as hell get alot more publicity. Until then a 7.3 is good for him.

6.8, I have never really got into Brandon Vera. He has some good fights in his history, but he has to elevate his game if he wants to be a threat.

7/10.. He was sharp when he had beaten Frank Mir, and had some good fights in the heavyweight division. But now he is in the light heavyweight division as I think he lost the potentials and had to drop weight (easier for him as he will be bigger than those opponents as he is tall guy).

I never liked him, but he had just a couple of fights that I would remember him for. Nothing really big about him.

6/10... Last few matches I watched of his he was being pretty sloppy and lazy, ended up winning unanimous decision I think but I changed the channel because he had like 100 chances to win and he just hugged the guy.

he's one of the only few MMA guys I follow nowadays, mostly because he's Filipino and awesome. His style is pretty nice, he throws some nice kicks and even knees. He'll be a big deal with a big win, last time he wasn't that impressive IMO.
