Awesome idea. However it still seems a little pricey to me.

6 DVDs for 120$ (Free shipping on all)

10 DVDs for 190$

20 DVDs for 340$

Pro's

-Free Shipping
-Getting the newest stuff at your door the day the release

Con's

- You get the 6 newest DVDs (no skipping poor shows)
- PRICE

Myself personally it's going to come down to IF they put these subscriptions on sale. I think its a GREAT idea. But they should be cheaper. IM not paying 700$ + for a years worth of ROH.

Thoughts???

Actually the shipping is included in the price, so there is no free shipping.

I personally wouldn't want it because you might end up getting some not very good shows and the price can't be discounted.

I'm a perfectionist, so that sounds sick to me. the price is fair, but I don't really have a problem with it, because of no shipping. so if you don't go to shows frequently, this is great.

With all the sales they've had the past few months, it seems a little odd they wouldnt discount these prices any. Right now they have 35% -40% everything. So you could get 6 new DVDs sent to your door for 85$. OR 8 for about 100$

They also just had a buy 3 get 2 free sale.

Cary Silken Interview

AC: OK. They would go that long. Yeah, that’s, I imagine, a big improvement. A couple of other things that I guess have changed over the last couple of months that I thought I’d ask you about - A couple of business deals, one being the Direct TV deal and the other the subscription deal. Can you talk a bit about those – what you hope they’ll bring to Ring of Honor? The subscription deal, in particular, I guess is something that people have been calling for for a while, and yet I’ve heard some criticisms that it’s not all it could be. Is it sort of a pilot project now? Are you kind of testing the waters to see how much further you can go with this?

CS: You’re referring to the DVD subscription deal?

AC: Yes.

CS: I mean it’s very simple. You just get a discount and you’re sort of signed up. If you’re a fan, it’s sort of a convenience factor. If you’re the kind of fan that’s going to want every DVD – and we do have a lot of those – it’s no different to subscribing to Rolling Stone or you’re favorite magazine and you know you’re going to get them. As a business move, it’s nice to see that people are guaranteeing themselves X number of releases. And there’s a little bit of a discount for them, so it’s a win for everybody.

AC: Have you seen a little bit of an uptick in sales since you launched the service?

CS: Yeah. You know, people are using it. And it’s a nice thing. It’s a good thing to offer, and if they don’t want it, it’s no big deal. They get to pick and choose. But there’s a lot of completists. In our fan base, there’s a lot of people who want it all so it’s nice to give them the opportunity to subscribe.

there should be at least some discount, even a small one for the subscriptions. I got 8 DVD's for the price of six on Saturday, and the sales make DVD's cheaper than the subscription, even with shipping. But I guess it's better for people that like to pay up front instead of spot paying whenever a new show is out.
