Hell in a cell stunts

My mate asked me the other day why didnt people climb the cell anymore i simply said because the,Simple fact is that there became an over-saturation of that sitation for the hell in a cell. For instance if you look at the hardcore matches, the fans at first went crazy for them, they were new to the wwe, they gave an incredible amount of action, and so on. But then hardcore matches became over-saturated, the fans got tired/bored with them. Hardcore was happening in every match, and so it lost its importance. The hell in the cell matches could fall into the same mould. Hell in the Cell is suppose to be a special match, where a feud that cannot be dealt with in the conventional ways gets solved there. You had incredible matches such as Undertaker/Mankind, Undertaker/Micheals, HHH/Jericho... but eventually it got to the point where in every hell in the cell, the fans expect this kind of high-risk action. Of course there is the argument for injury, but thats the obvious answer. If the fans expect such high-risk, then the excitement is seemingly lost, and in essence the importance of such a match is lost. So in order to keep this type of match special, now the hell in the cell's don't have the fighting on top of the cage, through the cage, ect. But now you also never know whether a hell in the cell may have that type of action, and that is what drives fans to watch them.
What do you guys think?

Well, yeah, I agree that if people keep doing the same stunts over, it does get boring. That's why the last two HIAC haven't been as stunt-filled (Orton-Taker/DX-McMahons & Big Show). That way, the next time we see one we will expect less, and they can do something crazy again.

The turning point for HIAC was HHH/Jericho. They did what was at the time, the status quo for that match. Climbing the cage etc. There was a commentary by Taker for his match with Lesnar and he said they didn't want to leave the cage because the whole concept was forgotten. Confinement was the key.

I'm glad this thread was started because I hope that HIAC takes a break for a while. If they can skip it this year then the anticipation will be much greater the next time.

Yea DX vs McMahons was unnessecary to be a HIAC,I really do hope that the match takes an extended break and next time we see it,itll be more meaningful and anticipated.

Well it is now impossible to climb to the top of the cell anymore. The last Hell in a Cell at Unforgiven debuted WWE's new type of Cell, it's much taller, and way too tall for someone to survive if they got thrown off of it.

I think it has nothing to do at all with you anticipating it... you're just buying into it and that's probably what they want you to think when it's no fact really that the WWE has been watered down and has become more cautious of their wrestlers and taking injury prone risks. Unless there's 2 big names who know what they're doing in the cage (e.g. HHH/Taker), I don't think we'll see anyone go to the top for a very long time.

I hope that HIAC takes a break and when they wont a special match they dont go to the HIAC. They need to utilise some of there other special matches, which i think might be happening for eg the Batista Vs Undertaker is a Last Man Standing Match which was a good idea. Because the longer people wait the more anticapation and hype it will get.

I think HIAC will take a break, and i honestly dont see anyone climbing to the top any time soon if ever, assuming they keep the new type of cell, like xtremebadass said its far too risky.

thats exactly what WWE is missing . special matches for special feuds like TLC, CAGE , casket etc.....
as for the stunts, new superstars are just pussies and 1 scared to get injured . so wwe are working on safer cells like badass cells . looks bigger and scarier but at the same time, all we see is a regular match with some blood :(

I think the HIAC match always has a place in the WWE. I would like to see one a year per Raw and Smackdown if the feud is right, like 2005, when we saw Batista Vs HHH and Orton Vs Taker. I agree with the various points presented in this thread. I think they did stop it because of the fact that people forgot the concept of the match is to be confined. But I also think the huge reason why they stopped the climbing of the cage was it was too dangerous. Too many risks and too many injuries can occur, and the WWE doesnt want to risk losing a huge star. I would love to see a Taker Vs HHH HIAC match. It is only fitting, the two guys who have been the match more than anyone else and have the best records inside the cell.

They should hold off until they do a HHH v Edge feud, and then use it then for a re-match.

i dont think a lot of people will be happy after triple h gets injured again once he returns . dont u think? HIAC = an injury . sometimes small but hhh just got back . so i dont think he will be in a HIAC for some time.

I know this is off topic, but I want to see a HBK-Edge ladder match.
