A lingering injury has forced BJJ wizard Roger Gracie out of his July 30th bout with "King" Muhammed Lawal at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson. The withdrawal was announced on last night's episode of Inside MMA. Gracie suffered a stress fracture in training a while ago, which also kept him from competing in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships earlier this month. MMAWeekly reports that Lawal won't be competing on the card at all now:

MMAWeekly has also learned that Lawal’s return bout has been rescheduled for the fall season. At this time, there is no word on a replacement opponent for the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, but if Gracie’s injury heals in time, it is possible the two will still meet in September.

Gracie apparently is looking to return in October, so if Lawal is indeed placed on the September 10th card, it is unlikely that he would face Gracie. Gracie last competed in January, where he submitted Trevor Prangley at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg. Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Lawal is returning from an extended layoff due to a knee injury he picked up in his loss to Rafael Cavalcante back in August of last year.
