Former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Robert Roode has been out of action since late-June and on Thursday, he somewhat revealed one of the reasons why.

Roode took to Instagram to share a picture of Southlake Orthopaedics in Birmingham, Alabama, thanking them and Andrews Sports Medicine for taking great care of him this week and that he was heading home "after what is hoped to be a successful trip."

Roode didn't go into details about what his apparent injury is and what, if any, procedure was done this week.

The 45-year-old last wrestled on a June 25th house show against Omos. It was one of eight house show events he worked from May 21st through June 25th, all but one against Veer Mahaan.

His last TV match was at the April 1st SmackDown prior to WrestleMania as an entrant in the Andre The Giant memorial battle royal. After that appearance, he was out of action until the aforementioned May 21st house show match.

Anytime I see someone getting surgery in Birmingham, I automatically assume it’s Dr. James Andrews doing the surgery which means it’s serious.

Hopefully I’m wrong and Roode doesn’t miss too much time

It's criminal how he didn't get a decent push on the main roster, hopefully he gets one under Trips' management before he gets too old.

Robert Roode is expected to return to the ring for WWE soon, and may be switching brands.

In an update, a new report from PWInsider notes that Roode was spotted in Birmingham on Wednesday, and word is that WWE officials hope he will be back from his injury issues soon.

While Roode is still listed as a RAW Superstar as of this writing, there’s been talk of having him work SmackDown when he returns.

There’s still on concrete word on why Roode was out of action.

I really would like to see Roode get one final solid, solo push as I don't think he has many years before he hangs it up. Not only that but if memory serves me right hasn't HHH been a big Roode guy even when he was in TNA?
