Robert Roode is back on the road to recovery after undergoing a second spinal fusion surgery.

Roode revealed in an Instagram post that he had cervical fusion surgery done on his C4 and C5 vertebrae. The surgery took place on Thursday, which was Roode's 47th birthday.

This comes five months after Roode had cervical fusion surgery on his C5 and C6 vertebrae.

In his Instagram post on Friday, Roode stated that the surgery was a success and thanked the staff at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Roode also thanked his partner Deneane for her support through what has been a challenging year for him.

Roode has been out of action since June 2022. He hasn't wrestled on television since appearing as an entrant in the 2022 Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

Hoping for a speedy and strong recovery. Loved watching him in TNA and NXT. Remember when he won the IC Championship and the celebration afterwards. Stay Strong Glorious One!

*US title.

But I’m hoping for a quick bounce back for Roode. Been a fan of his since Team Canada. Would love to see him back in the ring

Thanks for the correction, fam.

Yeah Team Canada was awesome. That was during the best years of TNA, imo.

He had a great career in TNA. Going straight from Team Canada to Beer Money to arguably one of the best heels in company history

Call me crazy but I wouldn't be surprised if his contract just quietly expires and he moves on. At 47 with a double spinal fusion surgery and never really making a splash on the main roster, I don't think he'll be a priority to sign to a new deal.

They might keep him around as a producer. Very similar to Tyson Kidd

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Robert decides he wants to retire either. I don't think anyone would blame him.

Two spinal fusions, he sadly might have no choice but to retire. Wish him well whatever happens, he should always be able to have a job as an agent in any company

He could have been a top heel as he was in TNA, what a damn shame.
