PWTorch earlier this month that he will always retain a certain degree of his "Jersey" gimmick because "this is who I am," but he believes he can show a serious side if presented with main event opportunities.
"Are there different sides of me who might come out in bigger matches and World Title matches? 100 percent," Robbie said on the PWTorch Livecast in an interview earlier this month. "If I get an opportunity to be serious and all-jokes aside, yeah, I can put that aside."
Asked if he would put the entire gimmick aside and try something else on TNA television, Robbie replied, "Why would I make something up and try something else?"
Robbie also said he believes he made it to national TV after being on the Northeast independent scene for ten years by being patient and not getting frustrated, unlike other wrestlers who "expected to be big stars after one year."
"It's just like acting or anything else. There's no rhyme or reason why this guy might make it or not this thing. It's right place, right time," Robbie said, adding that he stayed positive while waiting for his opportunity. "A lot of guys who dropped out would have made it also, but they didn't have the patience."
Also in the interview, Robbie E. addressed the hot topic of TNA pay. Robbie answered a question on his experience negotiating with TNA by saying he "just brought a brand-new house," suggesting he's doing well financially.
