Opening Segment – Triple H, Seth Green, and Randy Orton
Odd that he’s coming out to the Game theme, and not King of Kings. First time I can recall seeing him without his hands taped up too :/. He got a pretty badass ovation, people are just going nuts, and he’s living it up. He recaps the past month. He says he’s here to introduce today’s guest host (as if we hadn’t heard earlier) Seth Green who gets a decent ovation. Never realized how small he was, god damn! He starts playing to the crowd a bit, and they plug the season premiere for Robot Chicken. They go on dissing Orton and Dakota Fanning. Orton comes out with top-heel heat, and a few cheers sprinkled about. Seth looks scared, lmao. Hilarious expression on his face. Orton responds to Triple H’s diss and raises the belt saying Triple H doesn’t have it. Then Orton starts talking shit about Seth Green. Triple H requests a main event match between himself and Orton, going back and forth, Orton steps away then asks Seth Green if he ever has been in a real fight and says he’s on the show to be mistaken for a real man, then Seth says he’s got a main event planned… Legacy vs. Triple H & John Cena & Seth Green. HA HA HA HA HA! Seth actually looks comfortable with it.
Segment Rating: **½
Some good shit talking, good main event announcement, and Seth Green’s appearance itself is pretty badass. Good ways to play up to the crowd/audience.
Six-Diva Summer Swimsuit Spectacular – Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim & Mickie James vs. Maryse, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendez
Winner: Maryse, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendez
Wow, I guess we’re actually getting this. Pardon me if I don’t fill in this match. Actually, Rosa looks disgusting. Would rather have Beth Phoenix
. DDT on Mickie by Maryse was SICK, and that may be the sexiest pin I’ve seen in a long time!
Match Rating: ***
Just the fact that it was swimsuit was hot, and the fact it was 6 instead of two was hotter. This is great. Guest hosts >>> a GM anyday!
Segment – Seth Green & Jericho
Jericho talks about how Seth is a phony and liar. More plugging Seth Green’s stuff. Seth tells Jericho he’s here because it’s fun and he (Jericho) should leave the building. Jericho says he’s got an agenda, and something to say whether Seth likes it or not.
Segment Rating: **
Looking forward to see what Jericho has to say. Seth looks comfortable on Raw, which is great.
Primo vs. Miz
Winner: Miz
Primo grabs the mic and calls out Carlito. Miz comes out with a mic. He starts talking shit about about Carlito, then announces he’s facing Primo and talks about Maryse being his motivation. Start off with Miz embarrassing Primo, then Primo fights back, dude’s pretty good in the ring, and reminds me of Eddie in size. Sorry for sidenote. Miz takes over again, working on Primo’s neck and spine. Primo fighting back again, nice Russian Leg Sweep, couple of great fast-paced moves. Carlito’s music its and he comes out. Carlito with “new†badass look. Distraction, and Miz hit’s Full Nelson Facebuster.
Match Rating: *½
Nothing spectacular, I’d like to see these two in a full one-on-one match sometime. Carlito in ring kicking Primo then spits the apple on him. Back to what I was saying… I think Miz and Primo could put on a good rivalry.
Cole announces that Edge injured his Achilles in a live event, guess they found nothing worthy of being called the injury point in the tapings.
MVP vs. Jack Swagger
Winner: Jack Swagger
MVP comes out with a solid pop. Swagger with no heat, really. Staredown, Swagger with some amateur mat-wrestling and paint brushing MVP. MVP with strikes. Swagger to outside. *Commercial* Sorry, switched over to see Pujols in HomeRun Derby. Swagger with gutwrench powerbomb and pin. WOW.
Match Rating:
Won’t rate because I missed most of this match
. Swagger with a win is kinda big though.
Segment/Match - Jericho vs. Mark Henry
Winner: Mark Henry via Countout
Says one man is holding Unified Tag Titles for first time, building his solo dominance, lol. He starts talking shit about Edge and his past injuries, and calling Edge the weak link and how he can’t defend the tag team championships against Legacy by himself, and that people feel he should relinquish the titles, but that he won’t. Talks about his intelligence and how he’s got a clause saying if Edge is injured, that he could choose a new tag team partner on his own, and he’s going to be just like Jericho. Mark Henry interrupts with a HUGE POP! Jericho looks confused and they’re all acting like Henry might be the guy, then Jericho smirks, Henry staring him down. Jericho plays up to Henry’s ego, but Henry takes the mic, buddy buddy with Jericho, and plays to Jericho’s ego, and asks if they could be a great team. They could, but Henry says he didn’t come out to be Jericho’s partner, Jericho looks confused. Henry says he came out to be his opponent, and beats Jericho down. Jericho won’t get in the ring. Finally does, Henry crushes him, still beating him down, tossing him across the ring. Henry just destroying Jericho. Jericho trying to fight back, Henry hits him hard as fuck, Jericho leaves. Countout.
Rating: ***
I gotta inflate a bit with the way the match went… Mark Henry’s character is exactly how he should have been all this time. Him playing with the crowd after the match was impressive, he got ‘em loud as hell then silent on cue. I like what they’re doing with Mark Henry now. Him as a face is perfect, and he’s still playing a monster role. WWE is earning points in my book with The World’s Strongest Man, now. And Jericho’s promo was solid. Good flip, and I wonder who his partner is going to be?
Evan Bourne vs. Big Show
Winner: Big Show
Bourne uses speed, Show uses power, throwing him around. Locks in a butterfly submission and throws him around. Huge slap in the corner and throws him around more. Pounds on him. Tosses him out of the ring. Guillotine by Bourne. Bourne with missile dropkick, falls on head. Runs at Show, spear, Bourne falls on his neck. Locks in Camel Clutch and wins. Wont let go, Kofi runs in, kicks his head, Show standing straight up and Kofi jumps and kicks Show in the FUCKING FACE! FUCK YES! He kicked DOWNWARD, that’s how high (lulz) he was.
Match Rating: *
Nothing unexpected until Kofi got in the ring afterwards.
John Cena sold out Seth Green. Sorry, fuck rating segments. Some of these are gold though. ZZ Top hosting Raw next week. One of those fuckers hangs out with Jackass, so it can’t be too bad.
Legacy vs. Triple H, John Cena & Seth Green
Winner: Double DQ?
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH WWE!? WHY VOICES!? THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO COME OUT TO THEIR NEW GOD DAMNED THEME! FUCK YOURSELF IN THE ASS, VINCE! HARDER THAN YOU WANT IT! FUCK YOU! Cena got the crowd pumped as fuck with his entrance though. Triple H destroying Cody, cutting the ring off. Cena dominating Rhodes now. Seth in. Punchs Rhodes and Rhodes is pissed. Seth runs, Triple H hiding, decks Cody, Seth cover, tossed off, Cena back in. Orton sneack attack backbreaker on Cena. Legacy fighting dirty. Orton in, pulls Cena through ropes for SICK elevated DDT. Nearfall. Stomping Cena. Legacy still fighting dirty. Ted in, doubleteam with Cody on Cena. Cody with Full Nelson… muhfucka you ain’t the Masterpiece! Double clothesline. Cody tags in Orton, Triple H tagged in. Hunter working Orton with his own moves of Doom. Arn Spinebuster. Pedigree attempt, brawl breaks out. Orton with RKO on Triple H. Seth breaks the pin attempt, Orton is pissed. Kicks him, then lines up for a punt, Cena tackles Orton. Legacy jumps Cena. Triple H with Sledgehammer, almost hits Cena. Cena ready to fight. Fuck that was awesome. Hunter tosses sledgehammer. Seth getting a major pop!
Match Rating: **½
Decent match at times, but mainly just to show off Orton, Cena, and Triple H, and play up Seth Green a bit more. Coulda been a first-hour match, TBH, but it’s all good.
Segment of the Night: Opening Segment
Kicked off good, set tone for the night, had a bit of comedy, Orton added.
Match of the Night: Main Event
Slightly takes this. None of the matches were really spectacular, though I didn’t watch the entire MVP/Swagger mach as I said.
Show Rating: **
Really a letdown compared to weeks past, but I liked the entire Seth Green atmosphere. Thought there was some decent comedy, and decent promo-work. Wrestling wasn’t draw of the night, quite obviously. Really what I’d prefer, especially since past couple weeks have been really successful. Hopefully the PPV delivers.
