LOS ANGELES – The fight the UFC wanted to headline its first trip to China looks like it will happen.

Rich Franklin (29-6 MMA, 14-5 UFC) and Cung Le (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will serve as the main event at UFC on FUEL TV 6 in Macau. UFC President Dana White on Saturday announced the targeted headliner following the post-event news conference for UFC on FOX 4 in Los Angeles.

UFC on FUEL TV 6 takes place Nov. 10 at Cotai Arena in the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel. Macau is a special administrative region of China. The main card will air live on FUEL TV.

Franklin and Le were scheduled to fight at UFC 148 in July, but the bout was scrapped so Franklin could step in for Vitor Belfort to fight Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147, a fight he won by unanimous decision. Le remained on UFC 148 and fought Patrick Cote, also winning by unanimous decision.

This past month, White told MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) that if Le was healthy enough to fight in Macau, he would fight Franklin. On Saturday, he said the plans for the fight were put in place just Saturday.

Le is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion who also has a successful movie career in martial arts films. He moved to the UFC this past fall, dropping his debut to Silva with a second-round TKO.

Le, a native of South Vietnam, has averaged just one MMA fight per year since 2007. Following his win over Cote, White mentioned the possibility of putting him the Macau card.

Frankllin is a former middleweight champion who most recently has been fighting at light heavyweight and catch weights – but now will move back down to middleweight, perhaps to make one last run at title contention.

Not surprised here as it was rumored a few weeks back just confirmed last night though, pretty good fight. Going with Franklin though.

Franklin definitely has thsi fight. Le has good strikes but he doesn't seem to have the stamina of a Rich Franklin and that will be his downfall.
