Rich Franklin has been the victim of many call outs from the biggest loudmouth in UFC Chael Sonnen. However, instead of addressing those recent call outs Rich Franklin has another idea.

As heard from Yahoo Sports, Rich Franklin has just filled the position for Vice President of the largest promotion in Asia - ONE FC. The main objective behind Franklin's position is to work with the media helping ONE FC move into larger markets, a deal that president Victor Cui feels he will do so with great pride. "Rich Franklin is…an icon in this industry." says Cui "Everyone loves him, he is well-respected and he will be a fantastic addition to the team.”

Ace himself shares the enthusiasm of the new position as well. "“The offer was definitely something that appealed to me and I like the people at ONE FC, so it was a no-brainer. There is no convincing needed for me to join the team. I’m a ONE FC member and I’m here this week.” UFC President Dana White says that Franklin is welcome back to compete in the octagon should he decide to. Keep in mind, he does have one fight remaining on his contract. But there are no hard feelings between the two.

Rich Franklin took the middleweight championship from the late Evan Tanner in 2005 after becoming the first man to knock out Ken Shamrock. He defended it against Nate Quarry and David Louiseau before dropping the title to Anderson Silva. Wins over Jason MacDonald and Yushin Okami put him back into title contention, where he was once again easily defeated by Silva in his hometown of Cincinnati.

From there, Franklin decided to compete in the light heavyweight division where he went 3-3 in win-one, lose one stretch. He scored victories over Matt Hamill, Wanderlei Silva (which earned him fight of the night honors) and Chuck Liddell but dropped losses to Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort and Forrest Griffin. A second run at middleweight pitted Ace against Wanderlei Silva where he defeated him and won a fight of the night bonus for the second time in the process. Franklin then faced Cung Le in the UFC's debut in Macau China, but was knocked out with an overhand right in the first round.
