Ricardo Lamas vs. Hacran Dias slated for UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio

Next month’s UFC Fight Night 44 event in San Antonio has its 12th addition to the fight card.

Officials today announced that recent featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas (13-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) will meet Hacran Dias (21-2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at the event.

UFC Fight Night 44 takes place June 28 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced, but the card is likely to be seen on a combination of FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

It’s not clear where Lamas vs. Dias will be placed on the lineup.

Lamas, who’s ranked No. 5 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA featherweight rankings, looks to rebound from his February title loss to champ Jose Aldo. The 31-year-old proved game and even won a round against one of MMA’s pound-for-pound greats but ultimately suffered a unanimous-decision loss. Prior to the defeat, the WEC vet had earned his title shot with consecutive UFC wins over Matt Grice, Cub Swanson, Hatsu Hioki and Erik Koch. He picked up three stoppages and a “Submission of the Night†award during the stretch.

He now takes on Dias, a 29-year-old Nova Uniao fighter from Brazil. The Shooto Brazil and M-1 vet made his UFC debut in 2012 and earned a decision victory over Iuri Alcantara, which pushed his overall winning streak to nine fights. Although he’s dealt with injuries and fight cancellations during his UFC tenure, he ultimately logged his second fight with the promotion in May 2013, when he suffered a decision loss to Nik Lentz.

The latest UFC Fight Night 44 card includes:

Cub Swanson vs. Jeremy Stephens
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Nicholas Musoke
Myles Jury vs. Abel Trujillo
Hacran Dias vs. Ricardo Lamas
Carlos Diego Ferreira vs. Colton Smith
Andy Enz vs. Marcelo Guimaraes
Anthony Hamilton vs. Oleksiy Oliynyk
Johnny Bedford vs. Rani Yahya
Clint Hester vs. Antonio Braga Neto
Andrew Craig vs. Cezar Ferreira
Luiz Dutra vs. Sean Spencer
Joe Ellenberger vs. Frank Trevino
