Rey Mysterio Reportedly Working Without WWE Contract

Rey Mysterio is currently working for WWE without a contract, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Mysterio signed his now expired WWE contract back in September 2018.

As of late, Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik have been in a storyline with Seth Rollins on RAW.


Meltzer also reported that there was a plan for Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins in an "Eye for an Eye Match" for Extreme Rules.

Time to pretend that Rey would show up on dynamite the same week he's on Raw.

Even if that goes against any characteristics he has shown and we've been told by his friends.

A lot of wrestlers have worked without contracts in the past. I'm with Deezy, Rey wouldn't pull a Luger or Rude. He has far better character.

I don’t know if he does officially, but I seriously doubt they’d give him this much TV/in ring time if they weren’t planning on sending him to the PC

Wouldn't actually be surprised if Rey somehow works out a deal where he works with WWE while also getting some dates in Mexico or something.

I can see WWE caving and giving Rey Mysterio a raise in the money department. They don't want anyone else to really go any other organizations. Plus I don't see Rey as the type of person to pull a Luger in 95. He is a more honorable person than that.

It's more wild to me if Dominic is working dates not under a contract when he's only being used due to his relationship with Rey...and then Rey's has expired seems odd, but with the 'rona and everything it might not be that far fetched that WWE and Rey are cool with some sort of PPA for now
