Rey Fenix taking time off to heal

AEW roster member and Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix is taking some time off to heal up from injuries.

Dave Meltzer reported the news in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, saying Fenix is "banged up." No timeframe for his return, nor the specific ailments, was mentioned.

Fenix's hiatus began following the Lucha Brothers' successful title defense against Powerhouse Hobbs & QT Marshall at this month's AEW Battle of the Belts IV.

The Meltzer news was a confirmation of a PWInsider report last week which stated that Fenix appeared to be hurt following the match. He did not appear at AAA Triplemania last weekend either. It's unclear if an injury was suffered during the match or if he went into it already hurting.

Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo won the ROH Tag Team titles nearly a month ago at ROH Supercard of Honor in a multi-team ladder match.

I wish him a speedy recovery. I’d say leave the ROH tag titles alone. They just won them at Supercard. They have a few months before the next PPV.

Doesn't read to me like he'll be missing much time, as long as he's good to film something (doesn't have time wrestle) for the next ROH Universal tapings we might not even notice, and there's awhile before the next PPV needs to be built

This would be a great idea, I imagine he's coming back at anytime from his usual England hiatus unless he's another with some fucking visa issues or somethingb

Maybe when he comes back he can work smarter.

Sometimes a thoroughbred has to be broken to slow them down for their own safety.....TK should be putting governors in his roster.

And maybe stop hot shotting so much gimmick matches.

yeah Im thinking this is the usual PAC vacation. he worked a shit load before his break. guessing he will be back soonish in a meaningful way. they always seeem to bring him in with fairly good creative and matches lol
