Rey Fenix is hoping to return to in-ring action in mid-February, according to Dave Meltzer on last night's Wrestling Observer Radio.
One half of the former AEW Tag Team Champions has been on the shelf with a badly dislocated arm suffered during a table spot in the Lucha Brothers' January 5th Tag Team title loss to Jurassic Express.
After the spot, Fenix immediately pointed to his arm as it visibly turned in the other direction. He never got back into the match in which his team lost the titles. The finish still went as planned despite the injury as Jurassic Express was tabbed to win the belts.
It was feared Fenix broke his arm on the spot, but that was not the case. He was set to have an additional MRI to check for additional ligament damage, but no news has come of that.
Fenix missed several months in the late-spring of 2021 due to a groin injury.
