XWF Taken out of the Vault in 2020

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (Sunday, January 5, 2020) — The press are filtering as the crew are setting up the staging area. Everyone is decked in newly minted XWF tees, jackets and press badges. There's an XWF ring set up near the stage with the REVIVAL 2020: GROUNDHOG SEES HIS SHADOW logo on the canvas and flown above on banners.

The participants of the upcoming event are beginning to arrive on stage as former PWP writer Oliver Thawne steps up to the podium and grabs the microphone. His presence is positively vibing throughout the arena.

Thawne purchased the XWF over the summer amidst a series of deals with Dash Carlisle over trademarks dealing with his former enterprises after the shutdown of the CWA. Many discount Thawne's vision.

After witnessing the fall of another wrestling empire after ten years of delivering some of the best wrestling the fans could have hoped for former wrestling journalist Oliver Thawne decided to meet with the disgraced mogul Dash Carlisle about purchasing his trademarks and video libraries now that all his assets were defunct when it dawned on him that the NWA and MLW recently had reemerged onto the public square. Not wanting to utilize anything Dash had recently driven into the ground, he looked at Vince McMahon's recently relaunched 2001 venture the XFL. He quickly acquired the assets to the XWF from Jimmy Hart and SunWest Management Services, LLC so that he could revive the XWF name and capitalize on this trend.

Oliver Thawne: What is the fate, the very fate, of the XWF? You might be wondering about now. Well, I am now the majority shareholder and backer of the XWF brand, and you may ask, ‘What did you even really buy?’ Well, we’ve witnessed how the CWA has fallen and how other prospects have positioned themselves, and so a brand like the XWF, which has unmatched potential without history determining its course, increasingly becomes a more viable option in this tumultuous time. So, I might not actually be so crazy for buying these three letters. That's right I now own the XWF. Imagine that. Imagine what we could do?

At this historic press conference at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, ThawneMedia announced today that it is launching the XWF as a brand new league in 2020, the new professional wrestling league would give fans something new to put their hope in for the first time in over a decade. With this league, XWF is hoping to immerse its audience with a brand new cast of characters and generation of superstars and classic moments for the fans and their kids to grow up idolizing and nostalgizing like they once had. ThawneMedia will take the XWF and this business to the next level on the global stage and beyond.

XWF is determined to produce nonstop action and entertainment. Wrestlers will have free reign to evolve their characters and highlight their skills as never seen before. Bringing a true legitimacy to the sport, XWF will also keep track of its match outcomes, championship wins and losses, title defenses, and each superstar's overall behavior, for the first time ever, making competitor’s wins and losses truly matter as they attempt to chase the gold and move up the ladder in the XWF.

Oliver Thawne: Wrestling fans are a beast unlike any other. They desire – no crave – for a product that is different, unique and compelling and they have done so for far too long and I can tell you that our fans have a passion for their sports that is unrivaled in the representation of any other sport or entertainment community. The data speaks volumes, the audience watching at one time was nearly ten million people a week. That excitement and interest doesn't just go away. We can get those eyeballs back.

The XWF has a vision and a plan for the future of the entertainment business, and Thawne is moving toward that goal.

Oliver Thawne: XWF is stepping up to the plate with REVIVAL 2020: GROUNDHOG SEES HIS SHADOW on Saturday 2. XWF is committed to making wrestling fans our absolute top priority. We want them to be a part of the spark that ignites the evolution of how wrestling is presented. The wrestling fans have been under-served and perhaps even slighted by what the business has given them recently and we want to give it back to the fans. With their help XWF is ready to redefine wrestling and become a global leader.

The inaugural February event will be available on ThawneMedia Live and via iPPV and traditional Pay-Per-View outlets.

Oliver Thawne: We know Father Time has not been the wrestling fan's best friend recently, but we are in this for the long haul. I implore whomever believes in us and our mission statement to support the XWF by spreading awareness and the infectious wrestling fever. Be apart of the XWF today and be on the ground zero as we lead the way in growing the wrestling community and give the wrestling business back to the fans. We believe in ensuring you always have a voice. XWF will always be a fan-first endeavor that incentivizes a talent-forward approach. We hope this balance creates above reproach athletic wrestling matches and high-adrenaline sports entertainment and we can’t wait until the fans the world over bear witness to this stakes-raising enterprise.

This unprecedented first event will showcase competitors from all major independents across the globe, creating a new "super indy" for the best of the best to ply their trade. The cream will rise to the top and receive permanent spots on the XWF roster.
