We still have to wait weeks for a new episode of Revenge, but the PaleyFest panel for the ABC drama series gave us some interesting tidbits to chew on between now and then. Of course, these include spoilers, so read no further if you don’t want any hints as to what’s ahead!
Most of the spoilers are relatively tame in terms of major reveals, but they do give us some indication of what’s ahead, including what sounds like a flashback episode, which, according to TV Line’s PaleyFest report, will give us a look at the day Emily was photographed in the background of Lydia’s picture, which apparently took place in 2002. This upcoming episode will show us Emily’s “first glimpse†of the people responsible for what happened to her father. Something goes down at a New Year’s Eve party which opens Emily’s eyes to what happened to her father. As so much of this series involves things that happened in the past, it sounds like this will be a good one.
But before that, when the series returns this April, Victoria will take an extreme measure in an effort to protect her son. Mason Treadwell (Robert Bart) returns and is involved in this, somehow. Apparently, Victoria’s way of helping Daniel is to get him attacked in prison. From what Madeleine Stowe says, it sounds like this is Victoria’s way of getting Daniel out of jail. Kind of harsh though.
Other tidbits include word that the series will jump ahead to December to Daniel’s murder trial following the next new episode (Episode 17), and that the trial will be wrapped up by Episode 19. Hopefully “wrapped up†includes Daniel getting acquitted. How bad would it be for Emily’s vengeance scheming over her father’s wrongful conviction to result in another person she loves being wrongfully convicted?
TV Line’s report also offers hints of what’s to come for certain relationships, including a big decision Ashley needs to make regarding her loyalties, the Jack/Emily/Daniel love triangle (we’ll see how far Emily’s willing to go to help Daniel), and how Declan handles Charlotte’s pill addiction.
While Revenge hasn’t received an official order for Season 2, it sounds like the writers are looking to aim for a similar formula for the second season, should ABC give it one. Season 1 will end with a cliffhanger, and Season 2 will run similarly to the first season, in that there will be a mystery set up from the start, a midseason pay-off, and then new stuff set up. It’s certainly worked out will in keeping us in suspense so far.
