WWE taped another three episodes of WWE NXT Thursday night from the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Thanks to Wrestling News World Orlando correspondent Scott Brooks, who was on hand for the taping and sent in the following results:
Dark Match
* Dean Ambrose defeated CJ Parker via Rings of Saturn.
* They showed a video of Richie Steamboat attacking Kassius Ohno earlier in the day near the entrance to the Full Sail Venue.
Dark Match
* Damien Sandow defeated Garrett Dylan.
Episode 1
* Drew McIntyre defeated Richie Steamboat via Future Shock DDT after Kassius Ohno distracted Richie allowing Drew to get the win.
* Big E. Langston defeated Aiden English via the five count. Crowd asked for it again and Big E. hit it. They asked one more time after that and he hit it.
* Michael McGillicutty said that he is the #1 contender to Seth Rollins’ NXT Title in what will be his first defense and also his last. He wants to talk to Seth and calls out the “paper champion.” Rollins comes out and asks if anyone has told him that he talked too much. He says no one can deny how talented he is, but Michael makes it easy to forget it with how much he runs his mouth. McGillicutty says that he will never respect him and calls him a paper champion. Rollins holds up the title and says it is proof that he isn’t and says Michael looks like he is ready and Rollins was born ready so he wants to wrestle right now. McGillicutty says he will do this when he is ready and leaves.
* Kassius Ohno defeated Percy Watson via rolling elbow. Richie Steamboat attacked Ohno before the match but referees broke them up.
* Jim Ross came out for the main event.
* Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd defeated The Ascension when Gabriel hit a 450 Splash on Cameron.
Episode 2
* Bo Dallas beat Johnny Curtis via Spear.
* They re-taped the finish of Ascension vs. Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd to have The Ascension go over Gabriel & Kidd via the spinning wheel kick/leg sweep combination.
* Paige & Audrey Marie defeated Kaitlyn & Alicia Fox via Paige getting a roll-up on Fox.
* Briley Pierce interviewed Seth Rollins in the back asking him if he was nervous about defending the NXT title tonight. Seth said it was the opposite and that he was excited to make his first defense tonight and Michael McGillicutty should be afraid. WWE Champion CM Punk walks up and tells him how he earned his title from defending it the last 9 months. He tells Rollins to not ask for respect from McGillocutty but to beat it out of him.
* Leo Kruger defeated Dante Dash with his Neckbreaker into a Facebuster-esque finisher. After he got the mic, but he was very hard to understand.
* Before the main event, CM Punk came out and said he wanted to watch this match more closely and joined William Regal & Jim Ross on commentary.
* In his first NXT Title defense, Seth Rollins defeated Michael McGillicutty via Sliced Bread #2. After, CM Punk stood up from the announce table and applauded Rollins for his victory.
Episode 3
* Alex Riley defeated Jinder Mahal via rollup. After, Jinder Mahal attacked Riley and put him in the Camel Clutch.
* Trent Baretta defeated Jake Carter via Busaiku Knee.
* In the main event, The Ascension & Kassius Ohno defeated Richie Steamboat & The Usos. Richie was going to go for a dive on The Usos and Ascension but Ohno hopped up to the apron when Richie hit the ropes and elbowed him in the back of the head.
Superstar Showdown
* WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Antonio Cesaro w/Aksana went to a no contest after about 8 minutes or so when Kassius Ohno ran out and interfered. Seth Rollins came out for the save. Punk grabbed a mic and said AJ may not be here and Dusty may not be either but he says this should be a tag match and it is on!
* WWE Champion CM Punk & Seth Rollins defeated Kassius Ohno & Antonio Cesaro w/Aksana when Punk hit the GTS on Ohno while Rollins hit the Sliced Bread #2 on Cesaro. Both men then posed for the fans and went around ringside celebrating with them.
* They had a video come on the screen with John Cena saying that at the next NXT taping on September 20th, he will be there. (They had been hyping up a major announcement throughout the taping for the end of the night).
Afterwards, fans that stuck around to be a part of a new opening they were shooting for NXT were able to buy tickets for the 9/20 taping at half price.
NOTE: Commentary was active for both CM Punk matches so I have to assume they will air somewhere. The tag portion especially was too good to not air. Hopefully someone in WWE will be able to give updates on that.
