Ok well after ROH's first PPV which was great by the way i was wondering what a couple of people who hadn't seen ROH opinions.
What annoys me now is how can i go and watch the GAB bash and try and rate it after watching that!!
Since i've been watching ROH it has really lifted my standard of where i think wrestling should be at week in and week out. And i just get let down by the WWE for not even comming close to this. So thank you ROH, and Curse you at the same time. Does anyone else feel this way?

Anyways i gave the BJ Whitmer Vs Morishima match **1/2 stars was an alright match even though it was clearly a squash match, BJ hit a sweet Frogsplash one of the best i've ever seen.

Romero Vs Marafugi ***1/2 great match probally went on for a little bit too long the crowds was really behind Marafugi and i dont think people relise how good Rocky Romero is.

The Briscoes Vs Matt Sydal and CC ****1/2 absolutley amazing match many great spots and was the match of the night in my opinion, defiantly check it out.

Delirious Vs Strong ***1/4 good solid match the crowd was a bit warn out after the great match before hand none the less great match.

Main Event
Kenta/McGuinness Vs Morishima/Danielson ****1/4 A great main event showed exactly what ROH is all about, i cant wait till McGuinness gets his time to shine with ROH belt.

Props should also go to the Adam Pearce promo it was just a great promo if you haven't seen it check out.

Anyways what was everyone's opinions of "Respect Is Earned" is i had to some it up in 4 words they would be.

I haven't seen it yet, It still hasn't aired on Time Warner yet. I'm trying to wait for the 20th but I'll probably end up watching it on dailymotion. Its funny because ROH is also what turned me off of WWE, I still watch WWE from time to time, but it has became less enjoyable after watching ROH. ROH has set the standard very high and when wrestling from other promotions don't live up to our expectations we criticize it, which is a good thing and a bad thing.

ROH is basically the reason why i dont watch the WWE as much hell the only show iam really watching at the moment is ECW and thats only because Of CM Punk.

I am also curious as to what some first time viewers of ROH have to say about the PPV.

I thought it was a great introduction to ROH. They really showcased just about their whole roster well. There biggest stars fought, while the other mid card guys were used in some way. All in All, the show was really well put together, and had a lot of great action, what ROH fans can come to expect. As for this being considered PPV of the year? I dont know. Something about this show didnt feel like a ppv. Perhaps because it was tapes two months in advance? Perhaps cause i watched it on Dailymotion? Or perhaps because there wasnt any real buildup to the matches? Or maybe how the show was edited and only 2 hours. All in All, ROH did a tremendous job, and offered 2 hours of great wrestling.

Whitmer vs Morishima = 2.0

Romero vs Marifugi 3.75

Brisoces vs Sydal + Cluadio 4.25 +
(Great match, match of the night)

Strong vs Delirous 3.25

Danielson + Morishmia vs NIgel + Kent 3.5

From a wrestling standpoint, ROH went out there and did exactly what they always do and thats put on a great great show. I really had the feeling though, this was more of a introductary show, with MUCH MUCH more to come. They easily out wrestled TNA and WWE, and showed why they are the #1 wrestling company in the world. So i felt like ROH didnt go 100% all out. They did exactly what they been doing. I also really like how the announced mentioned how amazing ROH is live, and i have to agree. I've been to Raw's in the attitude era. I've been to WM 23, Bound for Glory. Roh
tops the cake by far.

Drum roll for my final PPV Ratings......

........ Now this is on a ROH scale

.....

...

7.5/10

Its good, but it left me wanting more. THe matchups coudl have been better, with more at stake. Its worth purchasing the DVD, mainly because it was ROH's first PPV. But overall, to get a 8 out of 10 from me, it has to be one of the Top 3 ROH dvds of the year. I thought SuperCard of Hero was much better. I havent seen Fifth Year Festival Finale yet, but i hear thats incredible. Then again this show was only 2 hours, where as those were 3.5 hours. Anyways, I'd say this is about the 3rd or 4th best PPV of the year.

I Liked the royal Rumble, WM, and ONe night stand.

That ROH PPV will go down as the best PPV of the year. WM comes no where near as good as this. Those 4 matches not including whitmer and morishima are better that any 4 matches from WM or royal rumble or one night stand. Just like Hell said ROH turned me off of wwe, and yea Montana that PPV did leave me wanting for more and i hope the next one is on DirecTv.

I have no doubt in my mind roh will put on the best ppv of the year, although i know this one was not it. Roh didnt really put much at stake the first ppv. There wasnt any big time fueds or a championship match. At Royal Rumble you had Cena vs Umaga, which is still consider a match of the year candidate. The Royal Rumble match, and a classic matchup between Batista and Kennedy. Wrestling wise, it wasnt anywhere near Respect is earned, but it meant more. Same goes for Mania. I enjoyed ONS personally for the variety of gimmick matches, and them pulling it off, without over doing it. Certainly a ppv cant be based only on mat wreslting itself. ROH can put on that same show every night of of the week. The wwe spent months and months building up their shows. I said it before the first ppv aired, the second and third ppvs will be much better. I guess we will have to wait and see. Roh has already put on two bigger shows already this year.

^I agree. Its actually pretty hard to compare the ROH PPV with PPV's from the other big two promotions because the other promotions have great build up and a months worth of story's that lead into the PPV. ROH doesn't even have a weekly show, and was taped in advance, but I'm pretty sure wrestling wise, this was the best PPV of the year and I cant wait to watch it.

Dave Meltzers Match Ratings

Takeshi Morishima vs BJ Whitmer - (He did not rate, most likely due to length)

Rocky Romero vs Marufuji - ***3/4

The Briscoes vs Matt Sydal/Claudio Castagnoli - ****1/4

Roderick Strong vs Delirious - ***1/4

KENTA/Nigel McGuinness vs Takeshi Morishima/Bryan Danielson ****

Same as mine, except i rated the Main event a 3.5 stars.

I don't see how the ME got 4 stars. I've watched it a couple of times, and I would give 3 and a half at most... I actually would have switched the ratings for the ME and the Romero/Marufuji match.
