I quite liked the movie but it for sure had some flaws. I did like how faithful they were to some of the scenery. Like the RPD station scenes felt like they were taken right out of the game for me. I think I'm going to go in with an open mind and try not to compare it with with games too much. I tend to enjoy them more that way.

Netflix’s upcoming “Resident Evil” television series will be the first ever live action series for the popular video game franchise, and it’s set to premiere on July 14, 2022.

Netflix promises that the series will “redefine the legendary horror franchise.” They’re also promising the first teaser trailer tomorrow, May 12th, so stay tuned for that!

“The all-new series expansion brings the best of the Resident Evil DNA forward – bad-ass heroines, insane creatures (some new/some familiar), a battle for survival and of course, a deep mystery to unravel. Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) expands the directions with fresh storytelling, bone chilling horror and an action-packed spectacle perfect for summer binging.”

Netflix’s “Resident Evil” is set in the year 2036…

“2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”

The cast includes:

  • Lance Reddick as ALBERT WESKER
  • Ella Balinska
  • Tamara Smart
  • Siena Agudong
  • Adeline Rudolph
  • Paola Nuñez
  • Ahad Raza Mir
  • Connor Gossatti
  • Turlough Convery
The 8-episodes series written/executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton, with producers also including Robert Kulzer, Oliver Berben, and Martin Moszkowicz of Constantin Film.

I couldn't figure out if it looked good or not but there's a lot going on action wise, that's for damn sure. I just hope the story is enjoyable.

Looks like shit, I’m angry. Legit angry. I love RE too much.

I love Resident Evil as much as the next person, but there's been more than enough shitty Resident Evil live-action stuff to just shrug off at this point.

I enjoyed the 2002 movie and Welcome to Raccoon City but they are nothing like the games really. The newest one had some good moments, and they used some game locations pretty well but a lot of the cast was a bit of miss for me.

I would rather them make their own stories than ruin the classic ones.

I'm not gonna lie, when I first read that one of them would be named Jade, I marked like a bitch.

Anyway, what I really wish they would do is a series that is like The Umbrella Conspiracy novel, where they touched a little on what happened before the events of the game. I really think it would be awesome to go that route with a show. I have had that idea in my mind, have a story that leads up to what we know from the games so we can get to know all the characters really well, since we mostly knew a lot of the Alpha team, and just mostly Rebecca from Bravo team. Just have the show with them doing other missions, whatever, just stuff that leads up to them investigating the cannibalistic stuff, then have a cliffhanger at the end of season 1 where Bravo team has gone out and is missing, end it with Alpha finding the helicopter smoke, then you got an entire second season that goes through the discovery of the mansion, etc. Lets say have 2 seasons per game, with the first half doing a 'before the game story' kinda thing where we are introduced to the characters, have little stories here and there of their lives, then second half (meaning second season for that particular game), have the events of the game.

That is how I would do it, anyway.
